I am not sure that the fall was caused by listing at Poloniex.
Many people call Steem a scam. I would say that such accusation affect the price in a bad way, while big exchanges listing it help the price jump (even if in some cases it's just a short term pump).

I thought I read somewhere that Steem artificially rose pumped on bittrex because most of it was owned(bought?) by creators or something (80%?) so they pumped it. Then when it was added on polo they dumped? Not sure if correct.

It was pumped to the new high on polo then slowly bleeding.

This got me thinking.. imagine if bittrex wouldn't add waves. What would be waves worth today? Also, what is so special about bittrex off ALL exchanged in the world that they are the only ones that added waves?

I do believe that alts are drying up.   But waves isn't strictly an alt.  Waves once complete will work with bitcoin to make transactions and business much more user friendly.   The Altcoin craze was just funding for what these platforms are about to create.
