I think one main reason it did not catch on bigger is because you need to download a standalone program to play. I think it would have been much bigger if it could have been played in browser.
Maybe that and mmo world/games probably were confusing for newbies, unless you had a mentor you would not know how to do some stuffs/anything at all lol. some might've quit because they couldn't understand how to play and no was there to help them.
As for people selling their accounts, I think it has a lot to do with unattainable DT for some people. The prices of bitcoin went up so much and some people have 2BTC+ of DT that would be very difficult to gamble the play-through requirements. New accounts only do 0.10btc of DT, but older ones are stuck on the original amount until they are able to claim it.
2+ BTC DT sounds like old accounts(2014 or even older i guess), never chase DT.
