Max's retirement threat wasn't just empty talk. David Croft said that Max is a man of his word, and when he says something, he means it. He added that changes to F1's regulations and race format, and Red Bull's lack of ability to provide a car that can keep him competitive, were cited as reasons for the decision. However, this is still just his claim, as Max could remain in F1 but move to a team that is more capable of providing a better car IMO.



Meh..  Sure, he'll prolly 'retire' but it wouldn't really be a retirement but a kind of sabbatical.  He'll prolly be active in another motor sport like those endurance races or maybe even be active in the WRC.  And maybe in a year or two come back to F1 rejuvenated.

He's the kind of guy who has the talent to be great and he knows it.  He'll never step away from F1 until he's in his 40's.

It’s pretty funny to see that India's sports minister said their country is 100% certain to host an F1 race in 2027. He said the first race would be at the Buddh International Circuit. Then, an F1 spokesperson immediately denied this and said F1 would not be racing in their country. This is why you shouldn’t believe everything politicians say, they can make all sorts of claims, but the reality is that the list of countries wanting to host F1 is quite long - even though India has hosted F1 before, that doesn’t mean they'll be able to host it again 100%, they’ll need to compete with other countries for the bid.

Germany has actually been considered as a potential F1 host since Audi's entry this season. However, the problem is that the circuit they proposed (Hockenheim) requires around €250 million in upgrades to enhance infrastructure and attract F1 back. For such a large budget, local promoters would have to raise the funds, and that could take a long time. Still, having F1 in Germany would be great, as two F1 teams are based there (Audi and Mercedes), although it's unclear when they will return to the F1 calendar.




And I've heard a new rumor that Ferrari is reportedly monitoring Max's situation at Red Bull. Ferrari is starting to look at Max considering Hamilton's impending retirement in 2027-2028, and he's a suitable candidate to succeed him.

McLaren has also been monitoring Max. Zak Brown appears very interested in Max becoming their driver in 2028. Zak continues to monitor Red Bull's situation, and if Max intends to leave the team, he's very interested in securing his signature.

It seems Toto Wolff will have to work harder to secure Max's signature.

I don't think Toto Wolff will need to work to 'secure' Verstappen's signature.  Which team has the best car right now?  Wink  That's the only question that should be in Verstappen's head atm. 

Verstappen is still young and money is currently secondary for him at this point in his career.  But pretty sure Mercedes could pay him more than what Ferrari or McLaren is willing to offer.

It's shame that such country like Germany don't have their GP. But damn, €250 million for Hockenheim upgrades sounds insane, probably it would be enough to build new track from scratch, while we are talking about not some abandoned circuit. I'm wondering after investing so much, how many years it would take to go into profits.

Not sure why this guy decided to make this hype about F1 in India. After failure more than decade ago it looks that F1 have zero intentions to return there. MotoGP also tried to race in India and looks that it didn't ended well.

I don't think Toto Wolff will need to work to 'secure' Verstappen's signature.  Which team has the best car right now?  Wink  That's the only question that should be in Verstappen's head atm. 

Verstappen is still young and money is currently secondary for him at this point in his career.  But pretty sure Mercedes could pay him more than what Ferrari or McLaren is willing to offer.

Yeah, Mercedes is the best team he could join. It's fair to say that under the current regulations, Mercedes is a step ahead of the other teams - they've been able to understand the regulations and adapt very quickly. Even though Ferrari and McLaren are currently keeping up with Mercedes, I'm more confident about Mercedes under the current regulations. And they also have the ability to pay and deliver on whatever Max might want from the team, and can be the first driver if he wants. So Mercedes is the best option Max could choose over any other team.

Red Bull is currently experiencing a problem; brain drain. Team principal Laurent Mekies is looking for a solution to end the brain drain currently occurring at Red Bull. So far, Red Bull has lost several key figures such as Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, Helmut Marko, and Rob Marshall. If more key figures leave Red Bull, the team will face serious problems. And that includes their driver, Max, who has recently been rumored to be a target for other teams.

Currently Red Bull has taken several key staff from Racing Bull (their sister team) but they can't continue like this, they need to take more action to stop more figures from leaving for other teams.





F1 boss Stefano Domenicali recently met with Max and shared his conversation with him about his F1 career. Stefano Domenicali spoke with Max about several things, most notably the F1 regulations and the future of the sport. He shared his views on the current F1 season while also expressing respect for Max, who has been so vocal about the current regulations as "Formula E on steroids." Stefano Domenicali remains open to improvements to the regulations, as they aren't perfect, and losing a figure like Max from F1 is a great shame.

However, the decision rests solely with Max, as leaving F1 is his right, and no one can stop him from exploring other championships, such as GT3.

I don't actually follow the 24h Nurburgring very closely, but Max's participation in this event led me to follow some of the news. It was reported that a driver died in a crash at the 24h Nurburgring. It was confirmed that Juha Miettinen, driver of the No. 121 Keeevin BMW, died in the crash. It's truly unfortunate that another driver lost their life on the track, which is why motorsport is so risky.

As for Max himself, he failed to win this event after experiencing problems with his car, and the repairs cost him a significant amount of time. As a result, Auer and Verstappen eventually wound up in P39, despite having led. Despite this result, Max will still participate in the main race of the 24h Nurburgring in May.

I see him coming at McLaren in 2028 together with Lambiase there. It would be nice to race for such team for him as he has raced only for Redbull team so far.
