Alex Dunne just finished his first session in F1 with a pretty good result. He got P4 with a time not much different than his partner Piastri, before he was eventually called up for the team radio upgrade. With this result he got the attention of F1 fans.

As for Dino Beganovic, it seems that the upgrade made by Ferari is not so satisfying, with him having to finish at P18, it is not the expected result. Hamilton also had his session interrupted with a gearbox issue, but fortunately he still had time and he eventually finished P9. Another unsatisfactory result from Ferrari.

FP2 will start in a while, hopefully there will be better results from Ferari.

Norris got P1 in this FP2 session after successfully finishing with a time of 1:04.580 at the end of the session - 0.157 seconds ahead of Oscar Piastri and 0.318 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen. This is a pretty good result for Norris after he had to skip the FP1 session.

What was surprising was Lance Stroll who suddenly managed to be in P4. Although there was a small incident where he had light contact with Max, he showed an impressive performance in this practice session. The possibility of warm weather and a combination of soft tires was a key factor in their performance.

Meanwhile, for Ferrari, they still had a little difficulty with their car, as can be seen from Charles who several times looked difficult to control his car and made him have to go off the track, but he was still able to finish in P5. Meanwhile, his teammate, Hamilton, showed a worse performance than the previous session by only finishing in P10. He had a problem with the gearbox, which hampered his car's speed.

This is just practice so of course it is not that easy to make a distinction between who is good and who is not. We have seen even lower level teams that managed to get first place in practices before, that sucked during the race. What we need right now is to make sure we can see how the teams actually end up doing on the race itself, but we can learn a bit before if all goes according to plan at qualifying as well.

However, if this is the order, then I fear for Mclaren, they had a wonderful year, but if Mclaren isn't the fastest car anymore, there is a valid possibility of us seeing them drop down the order eventually, not easily, would take the whole year but could happen. So, Mclaren needs to focus on this season if they want to have a win at the end.

As we already know Max will probably leave RedBull at the end of the season for Aston Martin or Mercedes.
It will be a bid war between them to get his talent.

Also I don't think that Max and Russell can coexist in the same team.
We had beef in the past year and this year, they will crush every possible turn.

So if Max end in Mercedes then Russell will be sacked imho.

Although he could not break last year's lap record set by Pecco Bagnaia at the Dutch Assen circuit, Fabio Quartararo managed to be the first during the Assen MotoGP qualification today and in the Practice session he also managed to be the first. And today I want to see how Quartararo maintains his position during the Sprint because in the front row there are more Ducati bikes that will prevent one Yamaha bike from being the first in today's Sprint. Hopefully Quartararo can provide a slightly fiercer resistance in today's Sprint.

I'm not surprised...  I've been already saying Toto Wolff wants Verstappen and what a pairing it would be if Verstappen's race engineer is Bono, Hamilton's former race engineer. 

As for Verstappen - Russell, I think if Toto Wolff does acquire Verstappen, he'll rather pair him with the younger driver in Antonelli.  Less tension that way.

Redbull and both Ferrari are really close.

As predicted Mercedes should soffer more during this weekend expecially tomorrow with hotter day.
Even if they are close I don't think that anyone can fight papaya's cars.

Maquez won again today in Moto GP.
He started in 4th positon in the Dutch GP sprint race but her won again.
Second position for his brother in the Gresini's Ducati.

He won for half of a second, a close gap but this was enough to secure his 9th sprint win of the season.

I saw Pecco Bagnaia had a little more difficulty in braking and overtaking the opponent in front of him and he couldn't even push his bike to be able to approach the opponent in front of him. This is really a complicated problem to understand because in Assen besides the gas, the brakes are also a factor that needs to be considered because there is no such long straight track. I also think that tomorrow Pecco will still have difficulty winning if the problem cannot be solved by his own mechanics.

Norris got pole position in the qualifying session of the Austrian GP this time. This is his first pole position and the first for McLaren in Austria since 25 years ago at the Austrian GP. He recorded a very impressive time of 1:03.971 - that is 0.521s gap with P2 and is the largest pole margin of the season. For his teammate, Piastri, he could only get P3 after he could not beat Charles' time record. He was left frustrated after he could not complete his final qualifying lap due to a late yellow flag following a spin for Pierre Gasly, if there were no obstacles he should have had a great chance of getting pole position.

As for Ferrari, Charles managed to get P2 in this qualifying session. This is a pretty good performance from Ferrari, even Charles said that it has been a long time since Ferrari was on the front row, and he showed a pretty happy face. After getting P2, Charles intended to put pressure on McLaren and make the race more challenging for them. And for Hamilton, he got P4 after beating Russell's time. This is a pretty good result for him and he is pretty satisfied with it. Hopefully Ferrari's strategy won't be destroyed in the full race later.

And what caught the attention in this qualification was Bortoleto, he got P8 - and it was his best result so far in F1. It was said that he managed to get that position after receiving a slipstream from Max, who said that his lap time was messed up, so he only gave a little help to his favorite "rookie". Well, it seems that Max understands how to play a strategic role even when he is not hunting for the fastest time.

That's really dominant pole, more than 0.5 seconds in such short track, we haven't saw this for a while. And it was neededa lot for Norris to get confidence during difficult period. Now he have to not screw up on race start.
Lawson qualifying ahead Verstappen - is that real life? . While Tsunoda failing even to get out of Q1 somehow doesn't even looks like surprise...

The Assen MotoGP race this time was quite fierce even though Marquez won again, but at least he did not leave his opponents too far behind and I really appreciate Marco Bezzecchi's performance in this race because he was able to win the second podium in this race. In addition, there is unpleasant news to know that Alex Marquez suffered a broken left hand after falling in the Assen race this time when he had contact with Pedro Acosta. I also really regret this because Alex is also a tough rider during this season.

The Austria GP is over and the winner is Lando Norris!

Was it easy for him? Not so much... Piastri fought really hard in the first part but couldn't overtake him. Norris had his best defending for a while. It is a deserved victory for sure!

Unlucky Verstappen... Antonelli pushed his luck too hard and ended Max's race too.    Lastly, Ferrari was great. Now they have taken the 2nd position from Mercedes in the championship.

This is like another scenario similar to Hamilton - Rosberg at Mercedes you know. I don't also think Russell and Verstappen would be a great duo honestly.    But on the other hand it feels better than relying on a rookie driver like Antonelli...

It looks like the old times when Marquez used to dominate the Championship with his Honda. However with that bike Marquez used to crash a lot and lost a lot of possibilities to get even more Championships than he already has. The fact is that with Ducati this guy is reborn and is dominating the last races quite well, no one seem to be able to fight him, not even World Champions like Bagnaia, I am afraid we are going to see him sealing the title early on, just like we all know now after the race of F1 today that the world Champion this time in F1 will be a McLaren driver, we just don't know who that will be. Assen is also considered the university of MotoGP so winning here has a special meaning for any rider and that is no different for Marquez who won today.

After 1/3 of the race they were in similar timers fo Mclaren, interesting.
