Congratulations on Marquez's first win at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Austria because he is very good at maintaining tires and seeing the moment and also taking advantage of opportunities. Meanwhile, Marco Bezzecchi who has won his first pole of the season with Aprilia was unable to maintain his position in first place because he pushed himself too hard from the start which caused him to lose his first position and had to be satisfied with finishing third because Fermin Eldeguer was also extraordinary towards the end even though he started the race from sixth on the grid today.

Bezzecchi was close to winning this race, but his impressive performance didn’t last until the end... though he had the fastest lap and started from pole position, Márquez was able to capitalize on the opportunity to overtake him on lap 20, and from there, márquez held on and secured the win.
With this victory, Márquez finally broke his curse at the Red Bull Ring and claimed his first win there, strengthening his lead at the top of the standings with 418 points. That’s a huge margin, and even if Márquez only manages podiums or top-five finishes in the upcoming races, he still has a strong chance of winning the MotoGP championship this year.

I even considered this year's championship to be Marquez's without having to wait for him to celebrate at the right moment in the next few races. The other Ducati riders haven't been consistently fast enough, and even Bagnaia himself has had a lot of unexpected problems that Ducati itself hasn't been able to explain in detail. For Marco Bezzechi, I think he learned a lot from this race and that in future races he will need to manage his tires well without having to force them from the start if the number of laps for one race is quite high.

1   Marc Marquez Ducati Lenovo Team (GP25)   418.00
2   Alex Marquez BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP (GP24)   276.00
3   Francesco Bagnaia Ducati Lenovo Team (GP25)   221.00

He is going to double the points of his opponents.

Fan fact we are missing a lot of races and do you wanna know the all time record?
It is 420, so he is only 2 points away

Trick fact, now it is easier to make points due the sprint races.

Marquez brothers are dominating the season then.  Grin  Maybe they aren't in the same team but Alex Marquez is also doing a great work for BK8 Gresini Racing.

Wow then a quite solid improvement is on the way! Marc Marquez is such a special rider truthfully. Just give him a competitive bike and watch what he does...

I wonder how many more titles he'll add to his collection. He is 32 now. His most successful years were at Repsol Honda despite his horrible last 3 years there.

Surprised to see that Marquez is so far ahead of other riders. The last time I watched MotoGP seriously, he was still battling with his injury and had inconsistent finishes. If he wins this season's championship, he'll have 7 titles, won't he? I wonder if he can beat Rossi's record. It would be an amazing achievement if he can match or beat that (even though the format is now quite different, as far as I know).

The 2026 F1 regulations continue to undergo changes. After receiving criticism from drivers who feared the new regulations would make racing more complex and appear more like a management exercise than pure racing, the FIA has begun to argue that these regulations will not be as bad as feared. In fact, they will make it more competitive because teams will focus not only on the engine and chassis, but also on batteries, the electrical systems, and so on. This is expected to present challenges but also lead to more innovation.

Furthermore, the Power Unit is also a crucial aspect of these new regulations, and the FIA has communicated with PU manufacturers regarding the new regulations and addressed any issues. The FIA ensures that all of these changes are the result of discussions with PU manufacturers, so no one will be disadvantaged.

To be honest, I wasn’t so sure about the new regulations and felt they just didn’t fit the Formula 1 I was used to. It’s become more electric, and the sound is no longer as distinctive as it once was. It could also be more complex for casual fans to understand, and this could lead to F1 losing some of its casual audience, as they may find the sport too complicated and no longer enjoyable.

^ Meh...  Yeah they could argue whatever, just like the spec changes that they made and said that it will reduce the dirty air by a lot and will make it easier for the drivers to pass each other...  And guess what, the new specs had more dirty air than the last one..  At least at the start before they made changes.

They should've just kept it as is for a couple more years so we could have more Verstappen vs Hamilton, competitive seasons which would've been great for F1 overall.

Yeah, a lot of us worry 2026 regs gonna turn F1 into “spreadsheet racing” where drivers are more managers than racers. FIA keeps saying it’ll balance hybrid and old-school vibes, but fans ain’t buying it just yet.
Sure, more electric = more tech and innovation, but let’s be real — the raw sound and old-school spirit already got nerfed. At the end of the day, if the rules kill the show just to look green, casuals will bounce quick.

The latest race is like a repetition race where Marco Bezzechi lead some laps before overtaken by Marc, I cant really remember in which race though.
Marc keep on proving that he is the best rider this season while most other competitors are facing inconsistency including his own little brother.
I'm wondering now what will happen once Marc secure the title this season too early with some races remaining, will he continue to ride as what he did so far or he will be riding safer and give a chance to his brother to win some more races?

"Sound" argument was never really that interested to me, it can have zero sound all I care, makes no sense to me, I can watch f1 without sound on, and I can still enjoy it, the part I enjoy about F1 is not the sound at all.

New size of the cars are things I enjoy too, smaller car means there will be more room to pass each other, overtaking will become easier, we may even see a few overtakes at Monaco, could be very fun, so smaller car is great too. What I do not like is the power of the engine, sure we will get more electricity, and I am fine with adding on top of it, but the engine itself will not be great. So this will be a battle of who uses their battery better, and that is not really a good way to race, it is not about pace, but more about strategy at that point.

It should be like that, but they're making F1 look more like "Formula E" than it actually is, just because they're too concerned about being "environmentally friendly." I mean, being environmentally friendly is fine, but they shouldn't have taken away important parts of Formula 1, like the sound, and other things, that they shouldn't have changed so much and made Formula 1 look like a joke.

Looking at the odds, Piastri @2.25 and Norris @2.35 for the winner of the Dutch Grand Prix ahead. Piastri is still leading the standings by a 9-point gap to Norris... What is your opinion on this race?

FYI, Norris won the last race on this track by a huge gap.  Wink

I have really started to hate electric cars recently. There is no sound. It feels like I'm driving a freaking Dyson or something.

Weren't V10 engines going to be back in Formula 1? I would really love to see the real F1 spirit back...

I agree with you on the nostalgia factor too. Those Hamilton vs Verstappen seasons were insane for the sport, and instead of building on that momentum they went full “let’s reinvent the wheel” mode. The whole Formula E comparison is spot on — it feels like F1 is sacrificing some of its soul (sound, raw power, unpredictability) for PR-friendly “green” points.

Sure, sustainability is important, but fans didn’t fall in love with F1 because it was eco-conscious. They loved it for the drama, the noise, the speed. If FIA keeps taking away those unique traits, F1 risks losing its hardcore fanbase while also failing to impress casuals.

Personally, I think a balance could’ve been struck — keep the hybrid push but don’t strip away the things that make F1 special. Right now, it just feels like they’re experimenting too much.

Yeah dunno...  Almost all the development have been going to electric power units from most of these car companies so we couldn't really blame them if they try to influence the sport to also go that route.  I mean sure there's Formula E but it isn't as huge of a sport that has a huge audience.  They could make F1 like Formula E and because of branding alone, F1 would still be huge.  Culture have already been formed around F1.

There are people I know whose families have been die hard Ferrari fans for a couple of generations.  Wear a RBR shirt then you have to take it off or you're not allowed to enter the house.  Cheesy Cheesy

Piastri is a better driver overall.
Norris can compete in less track or only when anything happen to Piastri or when the strategy works for him.

F1 always had innovations and new stuff, and some stuff became better, and some stuff were bad so they got withdrawn. If the "car noise" is what people want (still can't understand that) then it will be brought back, doesn't really matter, you can make the engine sound like it's v12 even with an electric engine, if the engine noise is all you care about, like they can have formula-e cars make that sound if they want to, it's possible, it's just fake noise, but noise anyway, instead of the original, but that should make you happy enough.

It's obvious that not all innovations and new regulations will be awesome, but I am not as hopeless about it as you guys, I think it is going to be overall fine, some will be bad and some will be better and we are going to perfect it overtime.

Yup.  And I'd just like to point out that for me Piastri is the better driver because he has more grit than Norris, who's kinda just like Russell.  The lack the grit that could've made them great drivers.

If you guys don't get what I mean, just look at guys like Verstappen, Hamilton, Alonso...  These guys have grit.  That toughness in them that makes them better overall.  Vettel is my favorite driver of all time but I also think he kinda lacks the grit needed to be great.

Fia left a door opened for the return of the GP in Germany.
They are now talking for a possible comeback after many years without a race there.
We are already 6 years without a race in Germany and in the back we even had 2 races there per Year.
Domenicali said also there is a increasing demand to host a race from different countries and if Germany wants a spot they need to be fast.

Marco Bezzechi made a small mistake by using too big a gear entering one corner in the race, even though he had already managed to build a gap on Marquez before making the mistake. And as Marquez slowly approached him, he began to relax and become a little nervous about staying ahead, allowing Marquez to overtake him at the first corner. As for the world championship, or if Marquez has already won this season, I don't think he will race like that again because his own target has been achieved, so he might choose to be less insistent on achieving victory, even though he might still be on the podium.

Colapinto will probably leave Alpine at the end of the season.
We gettin more rumors about this situation this time from Germany.

His last GP will be at Abu habi.
They already talking about Indi Car or Endurance for him with a farewell to F1.
