Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the
subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The
subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Looks like there might have been another compromise in the community allegedly https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=84893.msg936697#msg936697Please PLEASE please PLEASE for your own security use UNIQUE passwords on any Bitcoin site you use (It is a good idea to do this on ALL sites you use, but especially bitcoin it seems). This is for your security!

There's no settings to check. I mine on BFLs so there's nothing to change. Using 1 instance of CGminer in load balance mode on EMC servers US2 & US2 and OZ US server ports 8332 & 80. It's a direct comparison.
There are 3 things that affect the reject rate for a BFL: 1) If a pool doesn't accept stale shares then another pool that does accept stale shares will get a lower reject rate Well that's pool dependent. You'd need another pool that does accept stale shares, but doesn't charge anything, to be able to make more BTC on the other pool. 2) If you are submitting stale shares on one pool and not on another pool then the pool you are NOT submitting them to will be have a lower reject rate. However, the pool that you ARE submitting stale shares to will have a higher payout, since on rare occasions those stale shares might be accepted (the BFL code does not abort stale work before it completes) 3) Network performance. If you have REALLY bad network performance with one pool and good network performance with another pool, then the reject rate will be higher on the pool that you have bad network performance on. I'd be surprised if that was the case with all Ozcoin servers ... ... so which is it?

Network.
Wonderful road-runner time warner cable. And I can't change to anyone else :/ I have ping to EMC of 60ms, to Ozcoin 70ms. The weird thing is when pinging to EMC the pings are rapid fire, like 1s intervals. to Ozcoin it once every 4s or so. No idea why that may be? Don't change any options!

I have a ping of 52 to us.ozco.in, and 110 to eu.ozco.in. I'm on the eastern side of the US. No problems with my work to us.ozco.in. M

Yeah seems quite unlucky. I'm over here due to GPUMax not accepting leased shares Also, what is recommended here? Is DGM or PPS better?

long rounds pps will pay better but shorter rounds the DGM pays better i like DGM myself even long rounds the next few could be real short and you get paid good. Lol sence i dont use namecoin and only use namecoin on oz and you auto convert it i donated the namecoins i had on btcguild to you 0.14252487.

12 months ago today I started mining on Ozcoin's first server 2 days later we went public with our 1st post in this forum on the 6th of June. At times a week in Bitcoin feels like a month irl, so much happens at high pace - is it a year already? Is it only a year??? lmao Wonder where we will all be in 12 months time - hopefully still part of a vibrant and growing Bitcoin economy A big thanks to all of the community members that have helped with or supported Ozcoin. You are the reason Ozcoin exists Best wishes to you all, Graeme

Is there a list somewhere of the largest bitcoin blocks (most shares) recorded? I know there have been at least a few over 10,000,000...
just thought i'd ask since we just broke 8 million...

Comparing the number of shares has little meaning since if you say 10Mil now and 9Mil with difficulty 1.4M, in that case the 9Mil represents worse "luck". What you need to compare is shares/difficulty. The highest I've seen was on deepbit a while back of 8.25 (825%) Right now 825% is 13Mil shares ...

yer its going a bit long But, we have had a pretty good run of luck lately, so not unexpected 8M is right up there for blocks on DGM, we did have a 13M block on prop back in the day (I know diff at the time etc ) <ozbot> This round (0d 10h 58m) we have 8722245 shares (73048 stales; 0.837%), avg 1025.79 GH/s | 548.20% of diff | 219 users I do hope it ends soon though
