Besides, it's pretty easy to compile on linux, no need to be a dev.
I've compiled sgminer on windows in the past but only using mingw (which is a pain), maybe using visual studio it's much easier.

My rig runs on ubuntu, will it work?
Can you share your files? I'm a total noob with Linux since I only used Windows.

Of course it'll work. Since your rigs are on linux, you surely will have done something like this before:

git clone ......
sh autogen.sh
./configure
make

just like with any other sgminer fork

No, I tested it on 280x, 290, 290x, 370 and 380 and it don't work. I talked to wolf and the error can be related to the fact that they don't released the bin file.

I compiled the sources on linux, including the opencl code, it works pretty fine.
maybe there is something wrong with the windows exacutable.

Could you share some hashing number?

R9 290x @800/1250 did about 3.15 Mh/s using about 200 W of power.
(I'm not mining with it now)

And i want to know if the Rx 480 or something better than the r9 270 that works with it (because i don't know which card to buy..)

As stated before its being looked into. We specifically waited until we built it for windows to release. We are contacting wolf to see what can be done about the windows builds a pallas' sgminer had no issues during a windows compile

I too am in the dilemma of what new card to get. I was considering Rx 480 but reading about troubles with it I think maybe not the best spend.
