why does everybody always says "next" year is the best year

in fact i hear this almost every year that the next year or the future is going to be get better but it is always the same (good or bad) nothing changes.

You could be right to that because in my own opinion bitcoin is progressive every year, so if we say that next year would be the best year it means we are expecting that the success this year will be surpass in the next year, it is just like breaking our own record from time to time.

Well for the next year to come I am always thinking positively because if I will going to think about negativity that is going to make my thought negative in bitcoin. So we are going to say that every year is going to be a year of bitcoin and have more and no less because all of us will going to benefit if the price of bitcoin is going to increase.

Hope so. It would be nice if it's price will go up again so that bitcoin can attract more users and investors. And mining would be profitable again and everything would be back to normal like the old times.

With the price surge that took place prior to the halving, I think that highlights 2016. Although I am not sure whether something else is going to make the price move significantly, I am already looking forward to 2017 and what it would bring to all of us. If the price keeps on the $600 range for the rest of the year, I am only expecting the price to be around $700 to $800 by next year.

That's what they said about 2016 too but we didn't get that far this year so I'm holding on and watching from the sideline before I believe anything.
But i do hope bitcoin makes great progress again in 2017 and shoots up in value.

2017 will be an incredible year indeed unlike 2016. My feelings tell me in 2017 there will be big price increases and mass adoption for bitcoin.
When stores start to accept it then the cycle is complete and it can really start to blossom.

Seriously though, why assume that BTC has to see 1000% growth "suddenly" again? It already has a healthy, upward trend. Besides, all altcoins that eventually gain recognition see that same exponential growth at first. I think a stable rise and sustainability is the way to go.

I think so too, 2016 bitcoin has block halving, after that the price is so stable,even bitfinex big dump of hack case didn't destroy bitcoin price. In 2017, more and more startups and banks will use bitcoin, stay tuned.

My prediction on this comming 2017bitcoin will increase the price of bitcoin but it will not take long because it will decrease that fast too and people will sell half of there bitcoins and they will not going to buy again if the price increase more than i expected.

No one can know, they just say because they want it to happen, if you want something to happen you would probably say to yourself that it would happen for sure why not, so that is also the case here, but every year when bitcoin will increase even a little bit in terms of value it would be considered a good year for bitcoin.

No one can know, they just say because they want it to happen, if you want something to happen you would probably say to yourself that it would happen for sure why not, so that is also the case here, but every year when bitcoin will increase even a little bit in terms of value it would be considered a good year for bitcoin.

Yeah no one can know we are not fortune teller to know about the future of bitcoin but we are seeing the new generation bitcoin is growing day by day and more impression about bitcoin so i think we are growing day by day so the price of bitcoin is not a problem we dont need to push the price high because many investors are waiting for low price of bitcoin before they will invest to make sure that  they can make more profit if the price is increased high..

what is not normal right now? I don't understand what is the problem you talking about. bitcoin's price is very good. and more people getting enter into it.
and I don't think price does matter anyway.. next year will be good too for bitcoin like this year I am sure about it.

There's a bit of truth in your statement. Bitcoin is still far away from mainstream use. One of the best indications for that is the huge spread between the Bitcoin Investment Trust as a mainstream trading vehicle and the real BTC price. If even stock investors are seemingly unable to buy Bitcoin directly, we can assume that buying and holding real Bitcoin seems to be not simple enough for mainstream users - which btw. I find difficult to understand.

Irrespective of wild price fluctuations, usage of Bitcoin will be growing slowly but steadily. I don't think that Bitcoin will become mainstream overnight by some big company accepting it. Instead I think Bitcoin's growth will replicate its network structure: It will grow p2p, that means by personal recommendation as a solution to inflationary expropriation and a simple way to handle private purchases. That is also a more healthy way to grow, because the underlying technology can be refined to meet the demands of a growing user base.

So 2017 is not the year of the Bitcoin. Every year from now on is the year of the Bitcoin

Yes I do believe it that way too as the day goes by bitcoin is becoming stronger and that is making it's way to the top.

And the alt coins are also benefiting with it and this is going to be stable if a lot of stores are going to adopt and accept bitcoins in the future.

2017 will tell the changes that made bitcoin grow at this price. If a lot of skillful users or investors have been with this crypto then I must say many projects will also come out. There are investors that wants a business also which will accept bitcoin as a payment transaction.

Why start next year? It already started since the birth of bitcoin. By looking in the development and progress, bitcoin really established a good community and will become stronger as time passes by.

So better hold on and ride all the trend that will happen.

I think the big year of bitcoin was when it went form a dollar to 1k usd but now it will slowly and steadily increase in real value as more and more people use it. I don't know if 2017 is going to be the year for bitcoin because it really depends on who has luck making and accumulating it I guess.

I'm fine with a slow and steady increase, as long as it is no decrease.
Every increase is better than what I get at my bank account.

In my opinion in 2017 we might have more stable bitcoin prices as we are already seeing in this part of 2016 with stable and a little bit rising price, now with the halving already done and no significant movement I think it will slow down in speed and move more consistently in the positive side.
