Depending who are "we", it's not possible to manipulate bitcoin price. If you don't have a lot of bitcoins or if you don't belong to a group of rich bitcoiners trying to control it, you can't manipulate bitcoin price, you are a small investor.
The only thing you can do is to take advantage with the big whales moves, follow them and you will have a higher chance to make profit.

I think it is impossible to manipulating bitcoin price. But it is possible to create factor for rise of bitcoin price. We all know that bitcoin price is depend on the demand and supply. So if we have big financial capital we can use it to make the demand is bigger so it price will rise. Bitcoin spreading and circulation is not so good now, so the hoarder can easily control bitcoin price. I really wish bitcoin get mass adoption soon.

Yes, of course big sum has to be involved. But media can do that. If there are good reasons to sell btc given, a lot of people with small amount can do that and that is how we get a big amount needed. I offered an experiment on this forum to check if we can make the price change but there weren't many people who supported me.

What I have managed to experience in my short but growing bitcoin lifetime is that the only drastic price-movers have been huge exchanger hacks (proven or otherwise)... you could even consider ETH's DAO incident as similar.

Any other type of news tends to move the market slowly but then day traders would beg to differ.

not just a lot of capital but billion dollars, and i don't think that if someone is not included as the richest man lists on few magazines then they may be don't capable to do price manipulation. Though manipulation is kind of risky if they are going to seek profit, but someone might have the intention to because bitcoin is vulnerable to major attack (51%)

I don't think it is possible.There's always someone with more money and more greed out there waiting to play you. And let's not get started on some of the exchanges themshelves.
For a small owners like me, I'll just let the price take its course and do necessary actions whenever the price is good enough for buying or selling.

Though there are various institution holding in china. If they all dump together then prices will fall like a dropping ball form air or hold it and limits the supply then prices will rose.

China can play only with the coins that are actively traded

And it seems that the upside is a lot more playable than the downside. My point is that they can really play the price only toward its further rising. There seems to be a huge support around the $500-600 level accumulated from all over the world, so even if they (I mean the Chinese players) decide to collectively dump all their coins, this won't make the price to collapse below these levels. But they can always try to buy more bitcoins and push the price even higher. I think no one will be particularly disappointed by that

The marketcap is very high and it spread to a vast so I think nowadays the price of bitcoin is unable to manipulate by a group of people but if a news come to know and the whole community react to that news then some chances to bitcoin price occurs in the market.

Good point. But still if you have a large number of this item named "bitcoin" which have just a limit to where it will end you could manipulate it with buying and selling it. That is what is happening with other rare items. Once they knew they stopped producing this items many people will try to buy one thinking its price will go up in the future.

if you try to manipulate it...and the market uses your "manipulation then the manipulator is the loser.
