Do you guys think the 2020/21 season will get finished? I’m starting to worry it’s going to be permanently cancelled. Really wouldn’t be fair, we’ve waited 30 years to win the title.

It doesn't matter, but I strongly believe the league would resume for where it stopped even if it take a year currently the season usually takes between two year 2019/20 as the current, It easier not change the title for the upcoming one than to pretend a total of 29 games hadn't been played, it's going to be a bigger mess not to complete the season in all sense, than finishing it very late.

#UltimateQuaranTeam tournament is such a disappointment thus far, at least for me.

Ain't nobody following their schedules and starting games on time. The round of 128 was supposed to be played on 22nd @ 7pm GMT.

Some games started with hours delay, others were played yesterday and the last 2-3 games were played this afternoon. So annoying....

Watford forfeited their game in the first round against Amiens, the only team to do that...not sure what was the reason.

Nope, not at all. Too many unknowns on so many levels if they don't, too many legal implications as well. It has to be completed before the new one is started, even if it lasts until Christmas.

However, I think it will partly be played behind closed doors and be finished before summer.

Well - they are losing a ton of money as well. All industries are. Clubs losing money because they are paying salaries and not receiving matchday income, TV companies because they are paying for broadcasting rights they are not receiving etc.

At that level of business it comes down to precisely that - contractual obligations. If the Premier league did not bleed them for more and more money each year, maybe it would have been different. Now that Premier League is their most expensive broadcasting material, they need to make sure they get what they paid for - otherwise they will go into bankruptcy.

Is there a specific house edge for those games or is that just provided by Fifa? Anyway, Fifa with Watford sounds very special,,, but I do not have any console box to play so I will watch livestreams:) Poker is fun too but can be done any time;)

If it does get canceled, I would imagine the EPL title is awarded to Liverpool. Clearly been the team of the year, a majority of the season completed, there is enough in Liverpool's favor to take the trophy.

Champions League?? Id imagine if its canceled, they will just issue a No Result, or Not awarded.. its too far out from finishing to crown anyone.

That's my 2 millibits worth anyway!

Neutral grounds, one game instead of 2 and played in some rich country which gets rid of Corona first. Probably middle east or Asia. That way they get a shitload of money and even penetrate some new markets.

Give me odds on site for that happening Steve and I'll probably take it

I believe in that too!! Im just tossing out the possibility of people over reacting again and just cancelling it to be part of the crowd   IPL cricket will be first sport back

One thing is for sure.. it may be quiet now, but all the main leagues will want to play as much of the season as possible and im thinking the end of the year and 2021 will just be overstocked of sport, no down months like usually!!

Nope, they cannot crown a winner if they cancel the season. They either need to finish it by playing remaining games/ finishing in current state and announce finishing positions on paper or make it void without awarding a winner or relegating teams. There's simply no option to announce a winner in a season in which you did not award european places or in which you didn't relegate anyone.

So, in my opinion it's either/or, but as I see it the percentage to finish the current season is like 99.9%.

I think there must be some insurance thing going on there. Obviously teams can't pay that much because that would be insanely high amount to pay for them, plus we don't know if television rights are all paid or not, so maybe they would have to both pay the television companies AND not get paid as well so that could be over a billion dollars lost. However for contracts like this, there must be some sort of insurance companies that they work with.

So, I doubt there is a "will they pay even if there is a war going on?" type of situation, in case of big emergencies there must be some sort of insurance company that covers this but they are paid constantly every month in case this kind of stuff happens so they won't go bankrupt neither by paying it since they got paid already in case for something like this for years without having to pay up.
