What if a symbolic fee was charged for participation, say, 100 + 10 μBTC, or maybe even 50 + 5 μBTC? Thus, considering the prize pool, it would still be more like a free roll, but, at the same time, we would get rid of many unwanted participants.

yeah, doing it as a micro buy-in money added tourney rather than a freeroll would clean things up a lot. i'm all for it.

I have a suggestion regarding POKER with STEVE tournaments.

We all know that they are constantly being abused with multiaccounting, and that around 30% of the registered participants are never showing up at all, which makes the game, well, less interesting, to say the least.

Some people use this to their advantage, when they have their alts on the same table they might be transferring chips by going all in right from the start. Higher chip stack might gives you some advantages on the start to harass the others

Even if it is not on the same table, they could also gamble by going all in right from the start. If they win they get double the starting stack, if they lose they will just use the other account to play

Seems like the only premier league match which is producing anything is manchester united with 2 goals from martial at the half.
All others are goal less.

The good thing about Leroy Sane deal is, dude is German himself so playing in a German team could maybe help him out a bit? I don't know how much it matters to play in your own nation but it sounds like it could be beneficial for you instead of playing in a foreign country (these are professional players so I doubt the difference is huge). And Bayern is by far the best team in all of Germany as well which means he will not have that much difficulty adopting and winning games there as well.

Ever since Ribery left there was a trouble with the wings at Bayern to fill that void, sure they had some good players but never at a level where they said "this is it, we are not getting anymore new players until this retires", if they are lucky and hit it off, Sane could be that player.

You're lucky that your table only had a few inactive players, on our table there's only three (sometimes four) of us playing then after the break some of inactive players started playing and did some all ins too.

I also had one unfortunate round where I had a full house then the other guy contested it with four of a kind.

It is freeroll and on top of that it is 40mbtc freeroll. Lots of people will do anything to get lots of their alts into this freeroll. It would be nice if sportsbet start noticing all those people that tries to ruin the fun and ban them but again it is easy to hide their connection with each another using VPN

On another side, it has alot more 'players' this way and perhaps sportsbet would like to keep it that way

Another option is to add a 1mbtc buy in for this wednesday poker. Sportsbet will keep on sponsoring 40 mbtc each week and all buy in will goes right back to the prizepool.. Instead of micro buy in that was proposed before, this is much better to provide higher prizepool

If we could get just 50 players to join with this system, that would be a total of 90 mbtc prizepool. Less 'players' but higher prizepool and higher quality game instead of numerous account keep throwing chips at one another

the problem with all the sitouts is it creates a very obvious advantage for some players and a disadvantage for others. when there are only 2 active players at a table (as is often the case) then the player to the right is OOP 7 out of every 9 hands, whereas normal HU play means switching position every hand. that often leads to nonstop bullying from the player in position.

it's great when you're the one at an unfair advantage, or when you're at a table full of sitouts collecting blinds without ever playing a hand, but that isn't an ideal game of poker in my view.

i'm also not sure how all the sitouts help overall site traffic.

If you want to play some nice poker game then this is a bad table , atleast in my view. If you want to increase your chances to win some money then I'd say this is a good table with 7 sitouts. I can project myself keep raising my chips to collect all those free chips from all those sit outs 

Great weekly event from Sportsbet but this needs to be tweak a little so people can enjoy the most of it. One option is to add buy in as I have posted above and the other option that I have thought of would be to give free entry only to account that wager X amount of mbtc in a week ( 5 mbtc or less perhaps should be sufficient )

none of this matters all that much. it's a freeroll after all. i just find the whole thing mystifying tbh. i've never seen anything like this sitout phenomenon before on any other poker site. i don't understand why it happens.

My crazy lunatic theory about this would be Some guy could be throwing tons of alts into this freeroll because the number of participants are high therefore throwing tons will ensure some of it will be seated on the same table. If he can get a head start of 20 or 30 k after 2 or 3 chip dump, that would be enough because continuing further will raise alot more suspicion on him so he let all the other alts blind out to 0

Another one of my not so crazy theory would be, some people just register and never shows up
