Question regarding the hack. On the following article:

Ned mentions that we can log in using our reddit accounts. Here is what he says:

Within the next 48 hours, Steemit will begin to allow all newly secured accounts to reset their passwords simply by logging in with the same Facebook or Reddit credentials that were used to register in the first place. This easy process will work for the vast majority of the potentially compromised accounts. All of these account holders will regain full access to their funds and their original account name.

I'm probably being completely dense but HOW are we to do this?

I tried putting in my reddit password into the login but it didn't work (because my reddit password has less than 16 chars). I went to the create account link, linked to reddit, and gave steemit permission to access my reddit - but all it said was "you already have an account" - which I knew anyway - it wouldn't let me get any further, just linked to the login page which didn't work with either my steemit password or my reddit password - the question is HOW do we use reddit to access our compromised accounts and secure them?

Can someone explain?

1. Make sure you are running the current version 0.10.0

2. Start with --replay. If that still fails, --resync (much slower)

I've just joined steemit. it looks nice. but I don't understand why he pay users to just create some posts. even it has no advertisements and sponsors.? then how could we earn steem money with posting?

I know an another social network like this called: empowr.com which is pretty much similar to steemit. but their payment system is in $$.. I am pretty much sure empower is scam. but don't know about steamit.

Steemit doesn't pay in real dollars, it just displays it as an approximately dollar value. The payments are in cryptocoins from the blockchain (one of which is a dollar-pegged coin). The payments to bloggers are new coins like mining, hence the tag line 'blogging is the new mining'

One could say that the 'mining difficulty' is low now, so the blogging payments are high (for some popular posts; many in fact get zero). As more join the 'difficulty' will go up and payments will probably drop.

Beware! About 5 hours ago a hacker or steemit transferred my steem to bittrex, changed my active and owner passwords. I wrote posts about that on steemit, but were deleted after few minutes.
I contacted to steemit support few hours ago, but no response till now.

it'll be much less in 20 hours. it's based on a daily pool, more votes = less payout but more spread

hello, is it possible to mine this days with normal computers?
what CPU power do i need?

i tried with one amazon EC2 instance with 32 CPU and do not get into the queue (1h).
is this enough or how many CPU do i need?
Amazon: 95000 hps
5 other PC: total 100000 hps

I have running an Ubuntu VM on Hyper-V, everything looks good, but when i start mining it says: "Started witness node on a chain with 3236594 blocks." and thats it. What could be te problem?

Steemi need a full website with support and also a topic on bitcointalk to assest with support problems. I have had on going problems for the last week and still not resolved for mining. Unable to mine due to getting following error after sync of blockchain.

Cleared and wiped out and started fresh and continues to repeat the same error above each time.  I was mining fine until things got hacked and went bonkers. No irc support no email no slack this getting out of hand. Think am just going to close shop on this due to the fact theirs no support from devs or any support team what so ever. Had high hopes for this coin that is no so been destroyed to the point if no support and resolved voer weekend or coming week I quit this.
