Do you know which of the files is the actual upgrade file?
https://shop.bitmain.com/support.htm?pid=00720161126080548570Q2tDBXAH065D
It literally tells you which fw is for your rig.

Yes got it already. Thank you!

Ok so the two boards are dead.

Anyone know if there is any way how to just buy hashing board replacements? Should I try contacting Bitmain about it?

If in North America, Bitmain Warranty has them https://bitmainwarranty.com
They also do PAID repair of the boards. I highly recommend them.

I have a S9 that keeps dropping a board. It may run around 2 hours and then turn to all xxx's and not hash.the other 2 broads seem fine. Once I reset from the configure page it will hash again for anywhere from a few mins to  a couple hours. Wondering if there is a monitoring program that I can Use to restart it ever hour or 2?
I checked out cryptoglance but it does not seemed to be working for me. Thanks

Does anyone know where to get original or older S9 firmware? The new one I tried today to see if it would not help bring my dead boards back didn't help the issue and it has tons less settings com[are to one I had before. Like not being able to set manually fan speed and it just keep starting and stopping the fans all the day long awful. Please does anyone have the older one? I have S9 b1 650M.

Thank you

I noticed today that some of the power connectors on the blades of my S9's are turning brown (that center connector on the middle blade is the worst of them).  The oldest S9's are actually the least affected by this and not all of the connectors are doing this.  I have EVGA 1600 G2's for all of them.  The worst one is the one and only autotune version I have (which is the one pictured), which is the newest of course.  Two of those blades are running at the highest freq of all of the blades in all of the miners so I am sure they are drawing more power than any of the other blades.

I have separated the ones that were drawing power for two connectors on a single cable but the PSU only has 9 cables and since the S9 control board requires one, that means I have to use at least one cable to two blade connectors somewhere.

I haven't been following this thread for a while but is anyone else seeing this?  Anyone had a fire from one of these?  This autotune one is I guess about 9 months old now.

Looks like a wire gauge heat issue to me.

Hello everyone.

I'm looking into mining bitcoin. I know the S9 has been out for a while now. Does anyone know when the model will be out (S10 or S11). To those who have the S9 how many bitcoin are you getting now ?

I don't have a 220V outlet in my place. Is there a way to set it up using 110V by either getting another type of PSU such as the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 G2 80 or getting a transformer to covert 110v to 220V ( https://www.amazon.com/LiteFuze-LT-5000-Voltage-Converter-Transformer/dp/B008GQTW7W/ref=sr_1_8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1496462469&sr=1-8&keywords=transformer&th=1#Ask).

For those using the EVGA are you able to connect it to the 110V outlet?

Thanks for your help.

Roll Eyes This is not the shiney-new-toy of the month flighty Consumer electronics (phones, tablets, etc) world... The next drop in node size for them is unlikely to be seen until *maybe* the start of next year if not the middle of it and that assumes there is an actual need for it and is economically viable at that time.

FORGET using any consumer-style transformer like you linked to. They are crap and not intended to be used anywhere near their 'rated' load 24x7x365. Been there, done that, have two crispy-fried transformers that lasted about a month. If you use a transformer it must be an industrial/commercial rated one. They will handle full load for decades but of course are about 2x the price of the others.

Either use the EVGA you picked or Btmain's APW5 which will do fine using 120v and 1 miner on it.

Send it to Giga Watt for hosting and they also do repairs on site, cheaper than sending to China and paying shipping plus cheap hosting.

sooooo good news (at least i think it is)....i got the firmware with fan control Wink. i downloaded the variations a few mins ago and will check my s9's sometime today to get the one with the most problematic temps to see how much of a difference the fan control makes.

i wonder if i will get that "sorry i was wrong" i was hoping to get?? pride is a great thing...but too much can ruin a man.

Doubtful, given that just because you have the ability to do something stupid doesn't mean that the person telling you that it's stupid is "wrong".

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

u said fan control and freq control cant be done and u also mentioned my "limited understanding of how fw works" lol. thats if the post hasnt been removed already since the purge but i remember either way. and dont put words in my mouth kid...u knew what i was talkin about and it deff wasnt about an old firmware on the new miners. nice try though Wink.

ne who so after the firmware update and letting it run so far for about a half an hour the temps dropped nearly 30 degrees at the chip lol. i set the fan speed to 80% and the freq was manually set to 550M to match the 2 lower freq boards that showed about 5-550 freq using the stock firmware available on bitmains site. now all of the boards are running at 550M and temps r super low....some of the lowest i have seen with an s9. also my hashrate didnt go down either and my hw error are at a whole whopping 1 in the last 30 minutes. i took screen shots of the miner running for 17 days i think it was and there were somewhere around 23k hw errors in that 17 day timeframe so 1 hw error in a half an hour isnt bad at all. the hw errors reported came from the 2 boards that the auto freq firmware ran really slow and the other board was jacked way up. ne way after it runs for a bit and i get back from lunch (at work) i will get to uploading pics so my "proof" can be provided before anyone says im lying lol.

Given your general nature to pluck something out of context, quote or it didn't happen....

.... i took screen shots of the miner running for 17 days..
Post them, or they didn't happen either.
