What is the recommended Chip temp for S9?
Im currently running between 85-91C.

under 95 c  is okay

over 100 c is not so good.

in-between 95c - 100c   is unit to unit.

based on  use of 20 units from  June 2016 until now.

also room temps   can be cold  10c  or warm  35c

and inbetween.

Getting a couple S9's online, 14TH batch. Any way to adjust the fan speed and Clock anymore? cold basement and chips are 68-71. I'd like to turn fans down for noise and run chips around 88-92. I remember seeing a URL link to still access the fan and click settings, latest shipped FW does not have those options anymore.

Where did you get these from?

Ordered a couple months ago directly from Bitmain. I was the December batch, just received them yesterday. Tempted to sell some since going for over 5K on Ebay, but who know BTC could be 25k in a couple months

I got mine Friday, hooked it up to make sure it worked and listened to the wife bitch about how loud it is.  On E-Bay now...  The L3+'s she can deal with, but the S9 is just too loud!!

Yea, its loud. I'm trying to see how I can turn down the fan speed from 4200 to around 3200. My temps are low and miners in basement so its cold down there. Last winter I ran 3 S7's for heat and 3000-3200 RPM was fine and manageable noise.

You can always build a box with intake and exhaust holes and soundproof it.

I've seen that, but I remember someone posted a miner config link that still lets you adjust fan speed and clock settings....I prefer to do that

no go bro can no longer be done.

build a tunnel like I did

If I remember correctly, the S9 is almost a year old. It it still a good buy now or is it better to wait for the new model (S10?). I know starting now is better than starting later but what if Bitmain would suddenly decide to release the successor a couple of months from now. The recent batches would really take a hit. I'm more skeptical of Bitmain now since their D3 fiasco.

With prices on the second hand market where they are now, I am sure you could sell the S9 for more than the price from Bitmain even after the next gen is released. And you will have more then made up for the cost of them now in mining profit

I like the mining idea as long as prices are relatively high. But, who knows now that there is an orderly market. I like Ethereum too given the smart contracts focus, and maybe someday we'll see a flippening, but I haven't seen any rigs aside from PandaMiner. I put in an RFQ through Alibaba for Trade Assurance, but I'm not sure if i'll get any play. I'm 99% sure i'll wait until Bitmain rolls out their next batch or potentially look into the DragonMint rigs (16TH/s) with heavy hitters in the industry verifying authenticity through Twitter instead of using a reseller. But, I certainly wouldn't pay 3.5x the cost although some people may if there is a market on eBay. More power to you if you get some bids and want to sell them versus use them.

P.S.: Hopefully I don't get banned for referencing "Ethereum" and "flippening" in this sub-section Smiley..

Does anyone know of any reliable Antminer S9 re-sellers (UK/Europe preferred, but if not will look to US supplier)?

There aren't any, you'll need to buy direct from Bitmain.

Hi,
dos anyone know when the profitability of the S9 will decrease?
It was released in June 2016 and still seems to be going strong.
How long can this last?

Does someone know maybe what time is needed for S9 to pass the customs? I am not sure will there be some kind of problems with my invoice/Bitmains, since they didn't put correct price on the package(comparing one that i have on my invoice). Miner is stuck 4 days already in customs, and there is no answer from them... "We are evaluating" thats all what are they saying. Bitmain has put 900$ on package, and on my invoice is 1.5k... Im not was i supposed to edit it, and show false price(one as it was on package) or i should have sent them the real invoice. I was in dilema, since i don't care for tax, i can pay it, its not problem. But since there are 2 different prices, is that maybe problem why it has been stuck for 4 days already... I am just guessing since i don't know anything about it, 1st time importing this thing.

EDIT: They called me 1h after this post, and i went to pick it up, we are UP AND RUNNING BOIZ!

My shipment was only held up one day in customs.  UPS called and needed an EIN/Tax ID number and my shipment showed up the next day.  I had to pay an import tax COD to UPS via check.  Might want to call UPS?

Hello guys,

my S9 arrived a few days ago and is working pretty well. Do you recommend to update the firmware? And if yes, how do I do it? How do I figure it out whether the firmware is up to date and which one I need?

My temp at the chip is showing about 70-75, is this a good figure?

The error rate is about 0.0006% (bottom of column DiffA#, right?), is this acceptable?

And at the pool settings: Do you recommend setting three or two different pools or just my first choice pool with different ports? (Pool recommendations are welcome at this point, I'm still trying Slush, ViaBTC and BTC.com)

Sorry for those beginner questions but I just started mining and I want to mine as efficient as possible without driving the S9 too hard to its limit.

I appreciate every help, thanks in advance Smiley

No need to do it, if the miner is working ok.

Yes.

Yes, not bad at all.

You can use your first choice pool with different stratum addresses.
So if you mine at Slush, depending where do you like you put the US address first, then the Europe address and then the China.

Here is an example:
Code:
Pool 1  stratum+tcp://us-east.stratum.slushpool.com:3333
Pool 2  stratum+tcp://eu.stratum.slushpool.com:3333
Pool 3  stratum+tcp://cn.stratum.slushpool.com:3333

What would you expect that email to say? It's mid December.
