13.5 THs at wall is about 1550 W measured.

You must be using are really inefficient power supply if those numbers are what you are really seeing.

I run thousands of these things. A 13.5 TH s9 with a good PSU draws 1360-1390 watts at the plug.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

A couple of thoughts about the very moderate efficiency improvement. First, I wouldn't be surprised if they are just reducing the hashing board voltage by 1-2 volts. You can do this on the D3 with the Blissz firmware and it lowers the electrical usage without seeming to lower the hash rate. (sometimes undervolting even improves it a bit.) I also notice that they are quoting AC electrical usage as +10% now. If my memory isn't completely out of whack, I recall they used to quote it as +/- 5%. Anyone else remember this?

Its been 10% as long as I can remember altho the first page of this thread says +7% on the power usage quote.

What is your room temp?

What is your voltage?

A hot room and lower voltage like 220 vs 240.

Will affect that psu.

I see the same from the 13.5TH/s s9 using HP HSTNS-PR16 2450 Watt PSU and room temp is 64F

Measured voltage 242v

In my experience the APW3 pulls up to 100w more at the plug then similar higher quality PSUs

My S9's at 13.5 TH/s consume on average 1417W with an APW3++ PSU on 230V. The room temp has been 35F-40F during the period I watched consumption.

It is a dell psu.

No, I mean the power consumption savings were something like 10-20 Watts only. If I remember right.

most s-9 did  .11 at the wall

so a 14th used 1540 watts at the wall

very few of the 30+ s-9's i have had did  0.098 at the wall.

here is a link to L3+ software issued by jestanop

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3546316.0

@ mods this is very important to not delete it shows that voltage can be adjusted and power savings of 5 to 20% can be done.

So most likely the s9i is using software like this.

It also means  if you have s9's you may be able to  reduce the power they use.

I also suspect bitmain will not release the s-11 until Nov or Dec.

as this gear buries prices on both canaan and Halong.

Can get the same hashrate with low power for L3+ ?
Did you try it ?

It seems the firmware for S9i is available for S9. Nobody have found it ?
you are probably right @philipma1957  it's just voltage.

Sorry if I missed it but I don't see any discussion...

Bitmain new slide verification when placing an order does not work for me. Tried 2 different browsers.

Net Err. Please refresh, or feedback (00)

Anyone has done it successfully or has a work around?

Edit:
It worked after I cleared cache and cookies.

Thanks for this link Philipma1957 - I just read the whole thread and will be tweaking my L3+s and L3++'s tonight!
Could I ask you a question? I have been looking for a watt meter for testing wattage use on my miners but am having real difficulty finding one that will work with 240V. Could I ask which one you use (brand/model) or if you could recommend one?

Thanks!

A standard Kill-A-Watt meter will read up to 240v, just dont run more than 1800w/8amps through it.

Thanks fanatic26 and philipma1957! I actually have a Kill-A-Watt meter now - I just figured plugging it into a 220/240 circuit would fry it - everything I find on them says 110/120V only.

Mine does not hold measurements after removing from power. I might get one like yours philipma1957 as it says it will hold the data even after being disconnected from the power source - plus I like the screen and the price is a bit better.

Thanks again!

hmmm is it worth it to do so much now considering the low profits. This should have been done from the start. Best is to have low electricity + hire someone to get custom software to undervolt + higher efficient PSU. I bet the S9 can undervolt too. We just dont know how lol. Btw, u did mention u made tons off your gpu miner. However, did u check the price of eth when u purchase the gpu and when u have broken even. It should have gone up a few times at least. I believe best would be a niche type of miner that breaks even in 2 months. Breakeven fast is important. Profitability can drop after, is fine.

I just noticed they are selling the S9i, does anyone know the difference between it and the regular S9? Other than name change..lol. I'm wondering if I should buy some of those or the Avalon 841's..

Halo Platform is one of the fastest Blockchains I've seen yet. They have FREE transactions. 250 Millisecond Block speeds. Smart contracts, Masternodes, blockchain games, and their own high speed DEX with BTC/ETH/USDC pairs. Similar to ETH, Waves, EOS, and more yet with only $1 million mcap. This video showcases the speed and reliability of the blockchain using the DEX, Masternodes (that will soon payout in BTC and ETH), blockchain games, and more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g74d3ixX7E8&feature=youtu.be
