Bitcoin is a long term project. Therefore it makes sense to save small parts over a long horizon. Do you save Bitcoins for your (grand) child or children?
For those who do not have (grand) children (yet), would you save Bitcoin for them if you would have (grand) children?

I don't have any descendants and have zero plans to squirt any out. However I do like the idea of holding some back to leave to my one thousand cats or pet extreme right wing organisation.
By the time I'm properly old we should be into the true deflationary phase and I'll regret everything I ever bought with it back in the day.

It could be a good idea to set aside a small amount for grandchildren. They may benefit from the gain in value more then we will or even our children will. I'm setting some aside anyway whether it's for me later or to pass on.

I think this is a good thing, knowing bitcoin is good for long-term investments so if saving bitcoin for our children and grandchildren the same as we save money in bank and got the interest continue to occur. I like your idea dude. maybe I can apply in my life: D

I have engraved private keys onto titanium plates for exactly this purpose. They are kept in a box with the other valuables, like a hoard of POGs, various tamagochi, Princess Di beanie baby, and some very rare and powerful Magic: The Gathering cards. Dang kids are gonna be floored when they find this box next to my partially decomposed earthly remains.

I'm saving some of my bitcoin earnings, yes, but I never thought that it would be for my grand child Well maybe because I'm too young, I don't even have a child yet. However, I'm saving it for my family's future, esp. for my parents (and maybe grand child belongs here in the future?). I believe that saving is a good idea, thinking and hoping that it will be worth using for in the future.

I am earning it for me and my family, I am single at a moment and never thought of saving it for my grand child as may be at that time bitcoin would be replaced by some other currency.

Sounds more or less like it will be part of a will. Or if you like it could be part of an inheritance. But I don't know if a lawyer who handles the estate would know how to pass them on to the grand kids

Dear sir, you are a man after my own heart. No kids, no grandkids. My goal is to leave everything I own to the drug treatment facility at which I work, stocks, cash, bitcoin, everything that can be sold. It's a nonprofit that is desperately in need of an endowment--or some sort of alternate funding. As it stands, not a lot of people know about bitcoin. Some of my coworkers do but it never comes up in conversation and no one I know actually uses it for anything. I'm the only live human being I know who uses it.

Saving for children and family is a good thing, and then it will be responsibility of our children to teach their children about bitcoin and the chain should go on continuously.

Its the good idea I think if the value of bitcoin continue to increase with there generation, but what if the price will not increase??? We don't know what will happen but savings is good.

It will be great to save some bitcoin for my kids. However, I think if the amount I have can sustain me until the end of my life, without adding more financial burden to them, that will be good enough. The kids will need to grow up and they need to find their way to survive. I can't spoon feed them forever.

How you will tell them how to receive this bitcoins after your death? Involving lawyer or other person is security problem.

I don´t like to be a pessimistic man, but remember that technology is always advancing and we can't foresee what will happen with the bitcoin technology in ten or twenty years, so I am not so sure that storing bitcoins in the very long term might be a reliable investment, my friend.

Well that is more or less the way this generation is starting to look, to be spoon fed. With all the snapchats, facebooking, twittering going on they are only interested in instant gratification. So leaving anything to do with money to them would be another peg in that board of being lazy and not wanting to work for their money.

No I dont and I will not do it, better to save FIAT money for them because it is easier to be used. Not all people are familiar with bitcoin and maybe not interested with it as well.

I never save bitcoin for them but I just gather a bitcoin and using that for making a business or another investment I can give on them. it's will more useful rather then I give them in bitcoin form

There is a saying: "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day; teach him how to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime.". Perhaps more important is to teach them how to earn their own living (or bitcoin).
But meanwhile, I will still keep some for them and only give to them after I am gone. Hopefully by them I have taught them the important value system in life.

I am trying to earn and buy and accumulate what I could so I can hold for the long term. Who knows how much one bitcoin is going to be twenty years from now, but I would keep on doing what I'm currently doing. Bitcoin is just another investment instrument that I am willing to put some of my money in order to help give my (future) kids a better and more stable financial future.
