Save you Bitcoin for your (grand) child / children?

If bitcoin really does keep on rising then it would be ideal for this sort of thing,  i think in reality though since I'm not overly confident bitcoin will last that long without being replaced it might just end up being a novelty item to leave.  Thats if there is even a network left by then to send and receive bitcoin.

Definitely yes. However I would not limit saving to Bitcoin only. In my view a combination of Bitcoin, precious metals (gold, silver), and maybe some shares of sound, dividend paying companies would be a good approach. If you have a lot of funds to save for your children, you might also consider buying forest properties - but this case depends on the interest and willingness of your children to take care of the property.

The most important thing for making long term investments (like saving for one's children) is making sure that the assets in question are not subject to inflation, have high fungibility, and are not easy to confiscate by governmental extortionists. Any counterparty risk should be minimized, too.

It is a good idea to try and save Bitcoin for your grand children but the thing is that we do not even know if Bitcoin is going to be around for that long.
I think that it is still better to just leave money for them.

We both believe that bitcoin is a long term project. Though even if it make sense to save small parts over a long horizon,  i might say as of now, im not saving any for my future grandkids.  This thread made me realized to at least save some for my grandkids.  So I think from now on I will save at least 5% of my Bitcoin for them

Yeah, all the technology that exists on the internet will certainly be replaced with the latest technology is far better and far more helpful to everyone's lives. But it also takes quite a long time and requires people who want to replace the position achieved by the bitcoin. It is also very difficult to do when bitcoin became a greater currency and used by everyone

i was never thinking that for these long term project and i think you have great idea even though i don't have children yet but might be if i save my bitcoin for next 15 years this is could be very useful for their cost of education in the future

Maybe as a souvenir.  :)Novotny knows what will happen in such a long period of time. Can Bitcoin survive, will it grow, will it become more powerful and equal to fiat currencies? Anyway, it's an interesting thinking,how to leave Bitcoin axa legacy.

With bitcoins you could even implant the child with a small piece of metal in his flesh in which is engraved a wallet. (But this could be a bad idea since it would encourage thiefs to kidnap him and steal it from inside him   )

yeah, most probably it would be a great idea to teach my kids about bitcoins in the future when they will be nearly adults because this technology is really awesome and it will change the world

Absolutely in my case nieces and nephews. For a child that is 2 years old now if they hold a Bitcoin in 20 years who knows. Bitcoin is here to stay and is a great long term investment. It is basically digital real estate.

Let me live first and then I will think about my grandchildren. By the time of my grandchildren, bitcoin will be replaced by some new inventions. I am sure about it. Like bitcoin is one path breaking innovation of my time, my grand children will have some other thing at their time.

I did not get my bitcoins by sitting on my ass and waiting for relatives to die... I would not want them to do that. I will much rather show them how to do it on their own and then build on that. If I see

that they can manage on their own and they have acquired some of their own, I would leave some for them, to secure their future. This will form part of many other investments I have done over the

years.... Nothing in life are truly satisfying, if you got it too easy.

Of course I would save for them. Although I'm really just gonna save half of all my savings for them because I want to enjoy my bitcoins too.

Knowing that you're saving up something for your children or grandchildren is a good feeling since you know that at the very least, you have something to leave them.

BTCitcoin has very huge potential to get rise more than 1000x from its value in future, I also think it is long term project after few years when we'll tell other people how would we made secure our future, it will be more like this when it was around 10k BTC just for 2 Pizzas.

This is actually a quite good idea, but I don't know if I would do that because maybe in the future they will have a better technology so that they replace Bitcoin. And I don't even know if I will have a grand children in the future, this thing is too far away to worry.

let me pass my time and to enjoy it. I am earning with with my own effort. I think they will have their own fate. they will earn with their effort and hardwork. why should I save my bitcoin for my children and grand children.
