There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

newbie here, im absolutely blazing away with my 3.7 Mhash/s. Was recently going to build a pc as a media centre and now well lets just say it still begins with m I do have a few questions, not been able to find by search. 1. How much network traffic does mining in a pool generate? if for example i was to put my miner rig in work, would the traffic it generate be noticeable? 2. How loud would a 7970 be in a tower running? Thanks, tsm13

I'd say, don't. People get fired for this stuff all the time, check this forum. You are about to steal electricity/network services from your employer.

Hi, I am new to BTC and trying to learn how people judge the market and when to Buy or Sell. I also made some Bitcoin websites such as a ticker, exchange rate calculator and Facebook Group.
Glad to hear from anyone here or join me on Twitter.
Many thanks

I quite enjoy the community here! I am trying to get out of newbie jail to start establishing a trade reputation here. I've done plenty of online hardware swaps/sales/purchases - but I am new to direct coin exchange without a web exchange - will look into escrow.

Obligatory first post. Greetings and salutations!
Read about the Bitcoin project 2 or 3 years ago and thought it was an awesome concept. Then life got in the way and I let it fall to the background. Kicked myself for opportunity lost but now I am up and running, trying to catch up with the community.
Seems like i'm not the only one!!! hehe

Hi Just joined up. Completely new to Bitcoin (and to forums). As well Bitcoin and Litecoin, I want to find out about Ripple. (XRP?) Does it actually exist yet, or is it coming out some time in the future?
