Hi All,
I'm Ami from Israel.

Started mining for fun a week ago while waiting for the GPU pc I ordered.
Got it yesterday and started mining today with ubuntu+cgminer on 7950 GPU

I'm not sure the set up is right since the pool reports low KH/s orders of magnitude lower!

See you

In case its Bitcoins you mine, then something is wrong. See: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

For the 7950 you should get something around 500 to 600 MHashes/s (after tweaking).

Just bought a cheap FPGA to have a go at making a miner, for fun rather than profit, waiting for delivery.
In case you are into FPGAs not only for mining: I am feeling that we get some cheap FPGA hardware soon.. when those damn ASICs finally arrive in greater quantity Wink

Hi all, new to the site, though not to bitcoin.

Been a long time currency trader (9+ years non-pro) and have held small amount of bitcoin for a while, though with that im more interested in the theory elements rather than speculation.

Joined up really to learn more about it, discuss the theoretical aspects of it in relation to the 'real' world and get a clearer image of where its all headed.

These are interesting times we are living in.

Peace.

I'll keep an eye out, if they ever do!

Alternatively, keeping a massive stash of AND gates and XOR gates at hand could be useful.

Hi All,

Chris from Sweden here.

Been lurking on this site for months without register, mainly in the Economics and the Bitcoin Discussion (sub)forums.

I bought bitcoins when the price was less than 10 USD per BTC and I still hold tight to most of them, even though I've sold some both on the way up and way down of the recent bubble to secure my initial investment.

I still have great faith in bitcoins. :-)

Cheers

Hey I'm Pascal and I'm shocked that there are folks actually reading this thread ^^

I am watching the bitcoin scene for almost two years now, having in the ~190k block area.
Its great to see bitcoin becoming more publicly noticed.

newb

Someone who is new to the activity that they are currently partaking in. Very often this term is used pertaining to computer games. Contrary to popular belief, a newb and a n00b are not the same thing, as a newb can and will get better where as a n00b will partake in activites meant mainly to aggrivate other players.

newbs deserve a chance to grow and become better.
