Hi,
I am a miner/investor in the bitcoin community. I've gotten atleast 11 people interested in bitcoins and they've gone on to become ambassadors of the currency with sizable holdings.
I currently have over 400 bitcoins and have been active in the currency since november, and I've also been reading around on bitcointalk for months now, but I haven't seen the need to post till now, its a little futile posting 5 posts and logging on for 4 hours for 1 question in 6 months so I hope my request will go through soon.
Thanks and keep up the good work!

I think I reached the time, and post count, but still wasn't able to post out of this section. Maybe it's just me being impatient though.

Ok I can understand that you're setting limits to avoid n00bs to open threads, but would you at least kindly check that your counters are REALLY working?
I'm stuck on a duration of 2 hours and 57 minutes from a week now, despite I read posts on bitcointalk for well over a hour per day...

Hi,
I joined last year and have been very active in the cryptocurrency community mostly in other forums. I have not posted anything here but would like to post some ideas about improving cryptocurrencies.
I have held several different cryptocurrencies including bitcoin and litecoin as well as some others. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
I am currency writing a newbies guide to trading cryptocurrency and would like to post it here at bitcointalk.
I don't consider myself to be a newbie seeing that I have been involved in several investor backed mining projects and have built and taught others how to build gpu mining rigs using cgminer.
In addition, I have an extensive IT background and have worked for several fortune 100 and fortune 50 companies. I have also done some application development work and am proficient in PHP & MySQL coding.
I will post the newbies guide here in the newbies section but there are other post I need to post in the other sections.
Please Whitelist me.
Thank you,
USSCFounder

I am requesting whitelisting because I came here to report issues with, and/or get help with CUDAminer and this seems like the place to do that.
While I understand what you are trying to do with your limits, it seems a bit silly to me to have developers (I see several just looking around for a few minutes) hosting their "forum" here and then forcing people (like me) to post silliness and banality just to be able to join in a discussion of a particular piece of software.
Perhaps a better idea would be to move all software specific threads to "newbies" so anyone can participate in the debugging, reporting of issues, etc. without feeling the need to fill the board with what is essentially spam by any other definition.
This is my first litecoin miner adventure, mostly because I have not made anything on bitcoin in ages with my ancient cpu+gpu hardware, and very limited budget.
Thank you for your kind regards.

Hello
I accomplished the 5 post and 4 hours browsing (will be more and more) on the forum. Did I have to ask someone to become a normal member or this will go automatically? I'm very interested in some investment and trading, but if needed I will try to help out people. Please put me to whitelist or describe me what is the next step to be a normal member.
Thank you in advance

Do we automatically become "Jr. Member" after the criteria is met? The Newbie Readme doesn't specify that we have to post in this thread in addition to wasting 4 hours and making useless posts. I've been logged in for 4 hrs 23 mins and have 15+ posts, yet still don't have access to post outside this subforum.
EDIT: Right after I made this post my status was changed to "Jr. Member". Is this an automated process from posting in the thread, or was there a ~20 minute delay after I reached 4 hours?

I am the owner of a hot sauce business HotChil.es, and have recently started to accept bitcoins as payments for our monthly hot sauce club and our under construction store. I have been lurking on the forums for several months now, and have recently registered my account. For some reason the total time logged in is not recording my time on the website. I have 2x 6950 graphics cards on there way to start mining as well. If this is sufficient, please unlock my account.

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.
If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.
If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.
Also: - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.
Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.
The requirements seem pretty easy. I don't see why you need to jump ahead.
