If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here. You must provide evidence that shows that you either understand more about Bitcoin than the average newbie, or that what you want to post can only be done in another forum. Reasons such as "I'm not a spammer" will be ignored. Try to be as specific as possible.

If you learned of Bitcoin through a currently established member of this forum who feels that you are ready to be released to the rest of the forum or who is willing to mentor you, or if you want to make a new account that is separate from your already-existing established forum account, have the existing user/account vouch for you after you have made your request.

If you are asking to be whitelisted because you are having a problem with something, we generally look more favorably on people who have already attempted to solve their issue in the Newbie board. Even if you end up not qualifying for preemptive whitelisting, your post might still qualify for being moved to another board if you have received insufficient help after a few hours.

Also:
- You must have made one post in order to send PMs.
- You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature.

Please note: If you see "Jr. Member" by your name, you have already met the 5 posts and 4 hour requirements and don't need to post here. Additionally, after you meet the requirements, it can take up to 10 minutes for your account to be automatically upgraded.

The requirements seem pretty easy. I don't see why you need to jump ahead.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

Hi,
I made a BFL preorder for a 60GH miner in June 2012 and now I want to sell it. I need money to start to build my own device, I know what are bitcoins and how we can use them.

Thanks

Do we automatically become "Jr. Member" after the criteria is met? The Newbie Readme doesn't specify that we have to post in this thread in addition to wasting 4 hours and making useless posts. I've been logged in for 4 hrs 23 mins and have 15+ posts, yet still don't have access to post outside this subforum.

EDIT:
Right after I made this post my status was changed to "Jr. Member". Is this an automated process from posting in the thread, or was there a ~20 minute delay after I reached 4 hours?

there is at most a 10 min delay for rescanning

Hi,

I'd like to have my "Newbie" status removed.
Justification: I have written a howto that seemed to help at least a few people  Wink :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=198481.0

And I have extensive developer, security & bitcoin-related knowledge.
Have been a user of bitcoin for several years - although I started mining only recently.

Thanks !

Need to be whitelisted, been running a 16 rig mining operation for a few months now and finally joined the forum to get in on some asic action. Planning on developing my own small usb miner for the DIY crowd. Just bought 400 asics in steamboats batch and need posting abilities to bump the thread and cheer on others to finish off this batch quick, lol.  Cheesy

2 years of mining. There were no reasons to post, cuz I always read first.  There were no problems until now, when I found my workers stand still and can't connect to the pool. I went to the official post and found that I'm dumb (speakless). And there's a entertainment reason -  wanna take part in ripple give away offer. That's it. Thanks in advance anyway.

I've waited too long to register and I finally did it because I wanted to participate in an auction for some ASICMiner shares.  If that's a valid enough reason to be white-listed I would be grateful.  The auction ends in 4 hours and 40 minutes.  I am hoping to meet the newbie requirements by then but getting a bump is always nice.

I know it would be much much better if you had to pay 0.05 to go on the main boards.

Hi,

I've been a Bitcoin enthusiast for about 18 months and I am working on creating content for several websites right now including bitcoinlanguage.com and would like the opportunity to ask for feedback from the broader Bitcoin community.

I've made several posts in here but it seems that it only counts my logged time as eyeball time and I'm busy researching other material. I have been reading about Nootropics and would like to ask questions in the main thread about them also.

I guess waiting would not be hard since there is a lot to read... but since I found this thread and I'm not a newb to BTC is would be great if you could whitelist me... cheers

PS. Terms not for newbs. Silk Road, Atlantis, tor, Satoshi (a unit of BTC) bitcoinfees.com, blockchain, AltCoins, LTC, PPC, FTC, NMC, NVC

Hi,

Please may I be allowed full access to the forums? I particularly wish to be able to participate in the ASICMINER auctions. I do not have the 4-5 hours to spend in the forum for the usual listings I am afraid; though I like to contribute my time is limited (I have an IT business to run). Further, I carry out most of my cryptocurrency-related social activity on darknets (eg. I2P).

I started investing in BTC 18 months ago and have made substantial gains. I continue to speculate in BTC mainly (I have made gains exploiting the exchange rate differences between Intersango, BTC-E and MtGox), though I also recently moved into LiteCoin mining (mainly since I have more CPU available than GPU). I currently have about 15 CPU miners and a few GPU ones, the latest of which is three AMD 7970's - working pretty well too! Smiley The CPU miners are hoovering up spare compute on virtual machine hosts I operate, which is actually proving fairly lucrative (the normal VMs don't use much CPU).

I do engage with the WeMineLTC community and have a few posts on their forum (under WoodTech). I'm running an open stratum/scrypt proxy on wmltc-stratum.wood-tech.biz:8332 in case you want to validate my technical capabilities. I am an ex-developer with good systems administration skills and a hobbyist interest in electronics - hence my interest in ASIC/FPGA rigs!

Kate.
