Like others, I thought this was a bit of a nuisance at first but I can understand why it's in place and 5 posts is not too much to ask Smiley

Depends, not sure whether its worth it requesting 5 potentially non-sensical posts (as topics discussed in newb section are limited) Cheesy

I've been registered a couple of weeks already. It's now time to come out of the shadows and de-lurk, I think.
Did you post as well? Couple of weeks is quite a long time

these restrictions seem reasonable considering the irrational exuberance related to the hype surrounding the entity - combine that with the hype with regard to ASICS and the potential to scam/spam .

I guess this filters out most of the spammers. Still don't think this is a proper way to solve a problem which could also be solved by tech means.

A spammer is always a spammer and I don't think this is going to stop him. But it will definitely stop spam bots which are truly annoying! ^_^

I'd greatly appreciate it if there was a reply restriction notice while signing up. There is nothing in help, and while I admit I would have eventually found this, as I did, it is still not a fun process.

Please make this process less stressful.  Sad

In my opinion that restiction along with the requirement for several posts in the newbie area are nothing, but an encouragement for spam.
