Are there delegates that the ARK Core team (founding/legacy) members are maintaining?

Love the project community is growing stronger. DPOS is so much easier to deal with than POW and POS.
Can't wait for smartbridge to be adopted by more coins in 2018.

I have heard a lot about DPOS. Is it more secure than POS?

why the ark price is dropping hard?

that's a good question, also why is it I cant transfer Ark on Cryptopia, I have 400 Ark halfway to my personal wallet and its stuck in the middle of nowhere,
that's not good as I wanted to use them for mining with.
but is this a wallet problem due to the coin devaluing?
cheers

Comparing Aion and Ark, which is better?
probably impossible to tell at this point. aion might get you faster returns but i feel that ark's technology might work a lot better as its less ambitious and serves a very specific and useful purpose. but hey im not on the dev team so we just have to trust our instincts

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of trading some coins for some ARK what are some reason why I should buy the coin I don't really have time to research every coin I invest in but I get a general Idea I assume this coin is similar to rise and lisk? I like these types of coins because you get dividends without keeping the wallet open, so what are some reason why I should (or shouldn't invest in ARK) and please honest unbiased opinions only no shilling or fud please.

Thanks

Its my best staking coin (delegated) PoS so like you told you just only vote and can keep wallet offline and many Ark coiming to your wallet you dont need make any more.
So you can buy it and keep mid/long term even on not actually wallet or whatever and only check sometimes in explorer how many Ark coming.
If you have more Arks ofc that is work you receive more coins. And its very good amount.

This TBH. I enjoy coins with good developers and little marketing. GBYTE is another example.

That's me.

Unfortunately, the New Year has not started well for me. I therefore need money for medical treatment as soon as possible. I wouldn't have to explain the sale here, but it has nothing to do with ARK itself. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't sell.

If someone is interested in buying up to 300000ARK at a fixed price... . please PM me!

Basically in DPOS, only Delegates participate in POS. However, these Delegates are selected by community by votes.

I think, it is less secure than POS, but secure enough for practical situations.

I think, it is less secure than POS, but secure enough for practical situations.

A basic summary of DPOS: https://hackernoon.com/explain-delegated-proof-of-stake-like-im-5-888b2a74897d

There are many practical benefits to DPOS, and in theory it can be more secure than normal POS in the sense that bad delegates can be voted out, whereas bad stakers can't. When delegates have to compete for and earn votes, there is an incentive (theoretically, anyway) to act for the benefit of the coin and network. The risk is that situations like those outlined in the Reddit link a few posts back can still arise; i.e., if a person or group of people has enough of the coin that they can stay in the top 51 simply by voting for themselves. For them to cease to be in the top 51, they'd need to either lose (sell) some of their votes, or else the community would need to make a concerted effort to a) NOT vote for the bad delegates, and b) vote for other delegates strategically so that the votes result in a satisfactory top 51. An increase in the number of forging delegates, e.g. from 51 to 101 or whatever, might help to dilute the negative effects of a bad delegate, but of course it would also make it that much harder to get rid of the bad delegates as the threshold for forging would drop. As a more nuclear option, a network fork of the ETH-ETC kind could also work, but would cause a lot of other issues and might do more harm than good overall.
