I am just trying to understand.

Can someone else of team Ark answer my questions?

Is cannabanana a team member of Ark?

If yes, why is he being so negative of Max and the project on the LSK Ann on BTC? While you guys are putting trust in the project. Cannabanana already explained his negativity. So don't need that answer anymore.

However I do need to understand why it is that the team of Ark is divided in negativity and trust into LSK. One team one mission?

What is the end goal of trusting LSK by getting the possibility of lots of coins? If clearly some of you guys don't expect LSK to become great this way. Is it in someway possible with a lot of LSK coins you can get more control over the project, and swing it your ways?

Yes, cannabanana is a member of ARK. He is an important member with many contributions but not the head of development or a decision maker. We doesn't work that way, instead we take great pains to hear out ever members point of view and arrive to the best possible decision on everything regarding ARK. This is not a one man show, we talk about everything. A lot. (I mean a lot, we had to pay for slack because the free 10k limit only gave us less than 5 days of history Smiley ).

I think you should simply ignore cannabanana if you don't like him. Anyone who frequented the Lisk thread or Lisk chat in the past knows that cannabanana will say whatever the hell he wants, he is...passionate.

Even our core group is 27 strong, you can probably double that to include everyone. In such a large group opinions on some things vary and there are always outliers. cannabanana is frustrated with Lisks progress and Max others less so or just don't want to spend time on posting about it, while others don't care either way and focusing on other things. It's a wide spectrum of personal opinions, but it has little effect on the ARK project and it's directions so we don't regulate it.

We accept Lisk because we think it's a good long term investment. We do it because it benefits us, benefits the Lisk community that we are still all very much part of. That makes is a bit of an emotional decision I guess but not that much. It wouldn't stand without us thinging it a good strategy.
Having Lisk won't give us power over Lisk development and we are not trying to gain any. We are focusing on figuring out what's best for ARK, and thats about it.

Vega,

Thank you for this explanation, this helps a lot. Much appreciated.

Is there a testnet with delegates forging?
There is only a private testnet at this moment, I think public testnet will launch in a few weeks.

Good news, will it release as long as ico ends? Or it will be later than ico ends?

Testnet will be released in the course of TEC so you'll have time to test, adapt and feel it out - thanks for your interest!

I'm very interested in this. My only concern is that Lisk (and Rise) codebase in its current state is quite vulnerable and both projects have yet to allow delegates to forge without causing forks. I believe I just read that they will be rewriting their code from scratch which is quite an undertaking and I think some are skeptical. With Ark being a Lisk code base, are you prepared to rewrite the code to become more stable?

Thanks. I think 120% bonus for Lisk investors is huge. I like it.

Please keep in mind that I'm not a developer, but as long as I'm around I take a stab at this too-

While Rise wants a rewrite Shift and Asch managed to make the Lisk codebase work for forging or at least found some temporary solutions. fixcrypt, our main developer also has several ideas, some he came up with while he was working for Lisk, and I know he also had a talk with asch main dev, and probably others about various issues and possible solutions not just about the forking problem but others as well.

I'm not sure how much of these ideas will be implemented into the initial testnet code, as fix had been busy with various other stuff, but he has some well defined ideas and development plans. I think you all will hear about them later.
I think 51 delegates should also initially help with the forking issue until better ways are found, but please don't quote me on that one. Smiley

Thank you for your support! We cannot speculate on markets nor we want to, but what we can tell you is that the LISK that will be exchanged in our TEC will be a long-term hold, meaning that a lot less on the market.

What's the big difference between the voting system Ark and Lisk?

Lisk Every vote get's 100% of the wallet voting weight.

So if you vote for 101 delegates for lisk, each delegate will get the full weight of your wallet making it easy for someone with a lot of money to manipulate all forging nodes.

ARK, Each vote from a wallet splits the vote evenly between all votes.

Vote for one node, that node get's 100% of the vote weight,

Vote for two nodes, then both get an even 50% of the vote weight.

all the way down to 51 votes, which is slightly under 2% per delegate for the total weight of that wallet.

Making it almost impossible for anyone to control all the nodes.  Including ourselves.

Nice number, yeah more better entries means more percentage than someone with only a few - but hey you never know! Also remember this is only the first one - there will be more as still 250,000 ARKs are set aside for sweepstakes, plenty of opportunities to get in and earn some! That's awesome right Wink ?

How many votes would be required to become a delegate to the Ark?

1.96078431373% = 2.45098039216Million ARK

if you can get this many, you can forge guaranteed.

None of the ARK Crew will get this many coins individually from the Token Exchange.  Told ya we made this thing fair.
