Can someone explain to me briefly what ARk actually is? I find the wording of everything in the OP confusing and ambiguous

Is it built on top of lisk, or is it a competitor to Lisk? WHat is the connection to Lisk?
What are the main uses cases for It? Is it a platform like Lisk/Ethereum for others to build on top of?

We are our own blockchain.  Probably Lisk see's us as competitors but we don't.

Connection to lisk: we are some of the main people running lisk testnet and mainnet nodes for Lisk for the past 7 months.

Main use case: it's a platform to connect platforms.  Connecting the services of one blockchain and allowing interactions between other blockchains.

I assume it includes the value of the Lisk they are taking in? But at what valuation
would they use for Lisk, current values, or value of Lisk after the ICO is over?

Lisk could easily sink to the ground as this ICO moves along, similar to what happened
to XCR. Not to the same degree, but it's obvious the price has been pumped
due to the ARK bonus.

Just wondering what happens if they get their 2000+ btc (using current Lisk valuation) during the early part of the ICO, but by the end it's worth half? Unless they expect 2000 btc separate from Lisk, but due to their bonus rates, not sure that would be so likely.

We are taking the daily average of each coins price.  Then at the end of hte TEC we will take the median price from the daily averages of each coin as a basis for the calculations.

Okay, that makes some sense then. Or perhaps if you simply took the price currently (1st day of ICO). I expect you should reach 2000btc valuation regardless, assuming things keep chugging along as they have been.

I just had a concern if at the end of the ICO that Lisk lost half of its value, it might put a damper on things a bit if the ICO was then called off, everyone got their Lisk back, but couldn't do anything with it as Lisk's value was in the dumps.

Although I do wonder if you'll collect enough btc to work with, without having to sell some of the Lisk taken in. It's unlikely that you'll take in a  ton of btc by itself... some yes, but I expect most of your valuation will just be in Lisk. The Lisk people could just sit on the XCR, as it was then worthless, but they also got a lot of btc. How much btc (not counting Lisk) would you consider 'enough' to support your development?

Well, according to coinmarketcap.com, BTC is currently worth 705 USD each, and Lisk is currently worth 0.21 USD each.



So 2000 * 705 = $1,410,000, call it $1.4M even for ARK to hit their minimum donation level.

So in Lisk instead of BTC, ARK needs 1.4M / 0.21 =  6,666,666.66666666 Lisk
