Alright, I see what happened.

Last night when I switched over to the new tables I've started using for share summaries, I took a look at the average difficulty and noticed that it was quite a bit higher than what I had projected (I was still using 32, however the average on the vardiff pools is closer to 64-80).

Due to this, the round shares being used for the payout calculations was much higher than it should have been.  (more than double in some cases).

I changed the payout calculation to use 64 instead of 32 for the vardiff pools, but I never updated the estimates calculation (which is where the round shares displayed in the page header comes from).

So, it is possible that since yesterday you could have had round shares showing up in your stats in the header, that weren't going to be used for a payout.

This situation is now fixed, the estimates code matches the payment code.  Sorry for the trouble.

Nope that wasn't it, there is still a serious fault, an LTC block was just found 4min ago and I received no credit for it either in the confirmed or unconfirmed balance columns, but my round shares went down substantially when it was found. I was mining LTC at the time, on port 3334 instead of 7777 as I would normally do. So that at least 4 blocks I haven't been paid for, maybe more, as I only noticed the problem 4 blocks ago. Not impressed.

Do you guys still want NVC in the pool?  It takes several days to confirm blocks but the price is very stable so it shouldn't be a concern..  Let me know what you htink.

NVC can stay as far as I'm concerned. As you mentioned yourself, the price is very stable so you should get about the same rate by the time your coins are transfered for trading.
How is your work coming along for adding PXC and other coins?

LTC balance from round shares has just started to work again.

Thanks.

But now the problem where the LTC pool hash rate says zero all the time, has returned.

Similar problem to what happened the other night but not exactly the same..  Things are fixed now and again no shares were lost.

If you're going to complain about how big of a scam a particular scamcoin is, NVC arguably shouldn't have been added. Wink

Personally I don't care about the origins of the coin, most of them are pretty similar in that regard. What I'm interested in is anything that will help boost our effective profitability.

Well, yeah, but NVC only had a 110,000 coin premine which was (supposedly) destroyed, many of the newer coins have much much more than that.

The PXC premine was supposedly for bounties, but how much of that has actually been given out?

I agree that the main reason why people use multipool is the profitability. I don't think the miners that are on the multiport care what coin they're mining, they just want to maximize potential profit.

Alright, I am setting up LKY, ARG and PXC on a set of 2 new, load balanced pool servers.  After testing, these three coins will be *multiport only*.  I.E. you won't be able to mine them directly.

ETA for testing is tonight.  Tomorrow I hope to add PPC and FRC.

You are absolutely right. I just keep my LTC and FTC and the rest is exchanged the same day, so just add all coins that have high profitability. Smiley

Sweet!

I'm definitely looking forward to a SHA-based multiport to point my FPGAs at. TRC will be a good one to have automated switching for, as it stands now I just ignore it because by the time I've noticed difficulty is down and get switched over, everyone else has seen the same, difficulty spikes, and I miss the boat. Smiley

You will have BTC running as well, for when it is more profitable than the others? Or do you not think we'll have enough SHA hashrate for it to be feasible with the difficulty level of BTC?

Awesome.  All three coins have really good highs almost everyday.  Possibly think about adding mec as well?  It has some very good runs in the high profitability almost everyday too.

MNC server seems like it may be overloaded again. Manually switching to MNC pool instead of multiport worked for a little while, but not long... I've switched over to LTC again manually in the mean time.

Just a reminder for the thread that PPC has a 520-confirm protocol like NVC, but is SHA-256.  Still a very interesting coin!  Will it be a direct mine like TRC?

I tried setting the diff to 16 for MNC so we would get fewer stales, but it's too much for the server to handle when the multiport is on it..

Once we move to the two load balanced servers this should no longer be an issue and I would expect we will be able to scale well past 2+GHash on the scrypt pools.

Why do you think that the share difficulty would have an effect on stale rates? AFAIK, it just has an effect on the variance of stales rates. With a higher difficulty, it's less likely to get rejects on block changes, but the rejects that do happen have more impact. This should result in exactly the same stale rate, no matter which share difficulty is used.
