They're awesome.  most guys are afraid of wearing them, but not me.  I'll admit to being a little off, but that's what makes me awesome  Wink

There are also the HeatHolders on Amazon.  I wear those as they are toasty with grip on the bottom.

They are great even when it was -40f two nights in a row.

I am having difficulty setting up solo mining on bfgminer, using settings that work fine solo mining on cgminer etc. I have tried with several coins, I can pool mine fine on bfgminer or with multiminer but any attempt to solo mine has been fruitless (returns pool or password error thing)  Does anyone else have this problem, or has anyone found a way? Maybe I am missing something simple.

Code:
bfgminer.exe -o http://127.0.0.1:12646 -O user:password -S erupter:all -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 --icarus-options 115200:2:2 --icarus-timing 2.5=90

the same line works fine for pools but cannot get solo working, have tried on a few coins that work on cgminer, but I much prefer bfgminer so would like to be able to use it instead. I have seen others successfull in solo with bfg so figure I am missing something obvious...

You can definitely OC the U1's.  Check out the Tips and Tricks section here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=390929.0 for U1's.  Also, make sure if you OC them that you have ample cooling...those little suckers get hot enough to boil water...

I've mine running at x0A81 (2.2GH rated) which gives between 2.05 and 2.15GH with no errors.  Only cooling I have it the hub sitting against the fan side of the PSU that runs most of my mining gear.  It's basically just a breeze, but it's enough.  They run off an aluminium Anker 10-port powered by ATX.

Hi
I set up solo mining a while ago using GUIminer. There was a good guide in GUIminer on solo setup.
Then when I want to solo mine I use the GUIminer solo mining control to start bitcoin-qt in server mode.

My solo batch file is then:-

bfgminer.exe -o http://localhost:8332 -O mylocalname:mylocalpassword -S erupter:all --coinbase-addr xxxxxyyyyyyyyyzzzzzzzzzz --coinbase-sig "rig1: This is My Block!"

There is probably a quicker way these days, but this still works.

EDIT:-  Multiminer can probably do a good job as well.

BTc donations welcome:-  13c2KuzWCaWFTXF171Zn1HrKhMYARPKv97

My 2x U1 are performing fine. Both locally and Eligius are above 4 GH/s with the 981 setting for long averages. But going a little up and down.
No hardware errors or one in 10.000.
a81 fails completely on one. Many errors on the other.

My 6x u1 are performing fine.  Running right at 12 GH/s with 0.05% hardware errors pretty consistently.  Awaiting resistors now expected at the end of the month.

Any recommendations for powered USB hubs for AntMiner U1's?

I like this device so far:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=413406.0

I have a variety of ASICs in it and do not have the issues I used to have with power and 7-port D-Link hubs.

That sucker's expensive.  I was hoping for a slightly less costly option.  I only have 5 U1's, so having to much power isn't really necessary.  Although if I OC those little guys to run at 3-4 GH/s then I might need it.  Any other recommendations out there?
