What do you have the miners plugged into?  Most cheap USB strips do not have sufficient power to run more than one or two.

Figure 500ma per U1 if your overclocking to 2GHz.

Did you install the VCP drivers? BFGMiner needs them to run the Antminers and Block Erupters.
http://www.silabs.com/products/mcu/Pages/USBtoUARTBridgeVCPDrivers.aspx

And since you mentioned CGminer before, if you have Zadig installed drivers, you have to uninstall those first.

I don't think I installed any special drivers.
I'm running mine off a BeagleBoneBlack with Debian Linux installed.

I just found the paths from using the -d? -S drillbit:all option and then manually specified the paths in my Conf file so I could manually control which board got which optimal overclock settings.

Did the same from my Mac for controlling my thumbs, but I have the usual SILabs drivers active on that box since I also have Antminers, bi*fury, and RedFury connected.

I cant get bfg to find antminer u1 says "no devices found" any help with this one. also when running cgminer 4.0.1 what should the bat file say when overclocking ?

1st)  Make sure your running bfgminer 3.10.0 - prior releases don't have antminer support.
2nd)9Should do it for you, overclocking them up to about 2 GH, where most are reasonably stable without mods (make sure you have enough power)
3rd)  This is a bfgminer thread, don't expect much cgminer support <smile>
my bad sorry guys when im running 3.10.0 what is the enter target: (value?) and if I use this ( ./bfgminer -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981  ) where do I put the info?

./bfgminer -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0981 --balance -o stratum+tcp://us-east.multipool.us:8888 -O Cassey.miner2am:x -o stratum+tcp://multicoin.zapto.org:3320 -O Cassey.miner2am:x

That is all you should need for antminer U1s.  The above is my complete command line, with no config file.  Feel free to use it exactly (I'll appreciate the extra hash credits <smile>)

Cassey, what's the "--balance" parameter for? TIA.

Cassey, what's the "--balance" parameter for? TIA.

./bfgminer --help gives the basics, but the github README, in about the middle, tells the full story.

Anyhow, --balance causes my hashes to be split between the two pools rather than just having pool 2 as a failover site.  I actually have some miner rigs balanced between 6 pools.  That can be useful, for instance, if you want to explore some newbie coins - just allocate one rig to hit multiple newbie pools.

There is a --load-balance option as well, which you can use with quotas.  For instance, you might give your for-profit pool a quota of 70, and three exploratory pools a quota of 10 yeah, and a friends pool a quota of 5 just so you show up there occasionally for support!  Alas, I'm seeing some performance problems, or at least reporting problems, when I use quotas, but in theory they would be great for multi pool usage.

Thanks, Cassey.  A logical and consise explanation. I had seen the term mentioned here earlier and was wondering if I was missing something. I use only one pool, so not necessary for my needs.

Luke are you considering adding support for the gridseed 5 chip miner?

It is selling like hotcakes but has rather poor software support. bfgminer would be magic...

+1

very interested in this.

Support for the single-chip thumbs is completed and submitted to Luke as a pull-request for 4.0:

https://github.com/nwoolls/bfgminer/tree/feature/dualminer-support

Support for the 5-chip miners is under way as well.

Just saw this and +1 to Gridseed 5-chip miner support!

i use your software on two computer of my lan but it behaves differently on the two .
the main pc for bitcoining is a mainboard sabertooth x79 with 3 nvidia gtx570 in sli mode [may be that count ? : sli]
it also has bitcoin-qt.exe and run_p2pool.exe  running
i launch the program with :
bfgminer.exe -S opencl:auto -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u username -p password --disable-rejecting

when i look at taskmanager processes tab : bfgminer.exe uses a cpu at nearly full load all time and also 319852k of memory
the second pc is a supermicron dual cpu chipset 5520 intel with two xeon and two hd5970 plus one gtx560ti .
[ i tried to use bfgminer for the nvidia but found not how to use --platform parameter so i make it bitcoining with diablo that uses a cpu at full load and 69264k + 1512k for a 32b exe]
the two ati are giving 1Gh/s without any overclock , bfgminer.exe is most of the time using 0% of cpu and only 92836 k of memory
the way i launch the program is :
bfgminer.exe -S opencl:auto -o http://192.168.1.2:9332 -u username -p password --disable-rejecting

is it normal ?
last thing i want to know : the gtx570 , not overclocked , are making around 170 Mh/s while the ati are making 235 Mh/s per gpu
do i have to tweak os or bios for the nvidia or an other software to have better Mh/s ?

gpu mining uses more power than its worth

For Bitcoin.
For Scrypt I still keep 50% of what I mine as profit.

Argh, noob here. Not sure why bfgminer keeps reporting such a low hash rate and I can't find any current explanation of the fields that might explain it. FWIW, GPU minig reports correct rates if I use that.
