No, there is no faucet or any way to get free XSPEC and no bounties at this point in time.

It is frustrating to see other coins....like torcoin...that somehow attract the attention and investment of folks.
the dev for torcoin implied it was somehow associated with TOR who quickly denied it. Even then not much credibility lost.

xspec is the sleeper of all the privacy coins.  Cool

It's kind of hilarious that a "TORCOIN" raised a cent after what happened to the last torcoin in 2014 on Mintpal.

Just a quick update re. the forthcoming 'White Paper'. We are just completing the last bits on Spectre v.1.3 which will have quite a few updates so the first version of the 'White Paper' will be released in the wake of v.1.3 to incorporate the changes and also outline what comes next.

I know I haven't posted much lately for various reasons. We are not far away from releasing v.1.3 with some important updates and improvements. We will also get more versions and an x32 for Windows. I will try to get a full update out in a week or so with what v.1.3 will offer.

Great news!

Will new version v.1.3 offer an update that solve the connection problem in China?

We are working on integrating the latest Tor version and a Tor 'obfuscation' protocol that will hide the fact that you using Tor. We will see if that comes in v.1.3 or in the next, still some work to be done but it will be done as soon as we can work in the latest Tor version.

ATTENTION: I respond to a very repeated question:
Can you give me a calculation formula for staking?
Well it is as simple as this, in a first consideration.
If we call N to the expected XSPEC number, then:
N XSPEC = {[(0.05 * X) / 12] / 30.5}
( ) = Annual amount
[ ] = Monthly amount
{ } = Daily amount
Example: 10000 XSPEC
X = 10000
N ( ) = 500
N [ ] = 41.66667
N { } = 1.36612

so that's the way how to calculate or expect the staking rewards nicely explained and its gather my interest i think this coin have a lots of future
to give quietly working behind and it will possible to turn to be a big project after time to hold some coin now and accumulate more nice dev with
good community.

Does staking only work in their wallet or in exchange too?

That makes a few assumptions that don't quite pan out in real time.
You're assuming that someone is staking at an "annual" rate of 5% (or .05) times what the wallet says their stake "weight" is...then dividing by 12 months, then dividing that monthly number by average days per month 30.5 (anyone ever been divorced knows that figure lol) as what the daily "stake reward".

unfortunately it doesn't play out that way......because every wallet that's open and staking (as jbg said on slack) is competing for the generated block release. some go to the wallet that gets it first....like its "orphaned" to the others.

So the effective stake rate is much much less, in my wallet it runs about 10% less, than your formula would lead someone to believe.
Trust me, i wish it WAS like this....i'd have a pretty nice daily stake rate.
Cheers.

What is that formula used for?

Just wondering, because it doesn't factor in the fact that a lot of XSPEC holders don't participate in the staking 24/7, and some not at all, which means more staking rewards for those who do.  Because of this, staking rewards accumulate at a much higher annual rate than 5% of the coins available for staking.
