So, we do expect: a new installer a new etash kernel (may be for Baffin ?) I saw something on github but I'm not sure a new x16r kernel ? a good for all memory timing split by memory vendor ? a lira2z miner
in the upcoming release ?

I'm expecting when GGS can give good spped on eth mining. 30M speed is too slow, Claymore and Phoenix miners gives up to 32,5M speed on eth. With the same OC parameters GGS gives only 30,3M speed. It's too low.

Uncle, I hope that Zawawa doesn't spend his time on improving Etash.
Even if he reach the same level, Claymore have DM with XVG & Keccak. At pair with the two( well, Claymore is 1.5 dev fee and Phonex its .65 %) how many people will switch ? I personally will not. I am not mining Etash besides Pirl ( that BTW its 0 % dev fee from Claymore) but I feel like the speed with Etash Ellesmere have reached a plafond. Vega mmmm. Isn't much easier to beat an old sgminer on Lyra 2z ? Or retake the CN crownd ? Or "virtually mod" a stock card ?
Aniway, I was not speaking of my wishes, I was just trying to make a recap of what Zawawa said previouslyhere /hint/publish on github.

Dual mining long time not effective allready. I didn't use them at least half year. Too much power consumtion, not much profit from 2nd algo. Higher temperature. I use solo ethereum mining. It most profitable for me. zawawa worked on optimization of GGS. It can give additional speed on eth, I hope...

You mean you have fully synced node and you are mining on your wallet directly? I thinks it is not true. I guess you mean single (not solo) mining

Yes, let us use right words. solo mining - is an old good term and is not for dual/single mining shit

I will push the next release as soon as I am done tweaking default settings for all the cards I have. (That's a lot of work!) New algos may or may not make it to the next release. I really want to get it out ASAP as there are too many bugs in the optimizer and old installer.
As far as Ethash is concerned, I don't think GGS is lagging behind too much as the "30Mh/s" figure comes from Samsung GDDR5. Let me work on the Sapphire Nitro+ series I have, all four of them now, and we will see where GGS really stands.
Oh, and implementing dual-mining is so much easier now as GGS has a built-in GCN assembler. Practically, I can slap any compute-intensive algorithm to Ethash without worrying about a register bloat. I might run some experiments to see how this idea actually pans out.

My GPU used for display is a RX 570 with Samsung mem, at 1180 core 2130 mem it gets around 31,3MH/S reported, so GGS is not that far.

Dual mining isn't worth it imho atm, so there is no point in putting effort to further develop it. All coins, that are mined as secondary are literally worthless and I do not even see any future for them, except for XVG, which is also not that sure Go for x16r and S! These are the future. Cryptonight-Heavy is also something to work on, too!

So, if I understood well. Etash doesn't use on the core a lot but its memory intensive. In fact all the core frequency can be lowered as well as Mv applied to it.
Finding an algos that is core intensive and use low memory will optimize the resources:
So, besides what Claymore does, which other algos can fit that description ? Neoscrypt for sure but is a little bit too much energy consuming.
CN litev7 ? I will be happy with 300 h/s Cn and 28 Mhs etash. Also in most of the 8gb card, etash doesn't use all the available memory, normally leave 4gb free..
Better choices ?

Single ethereum is the best choise. Lower consumption, lower temperatures... Especcially at summer...

CryptoNight and NeoScrypt are rather memory-intensive, so they are out of the question. See, any algorithm that is suitable for dual-mining as secondary algorithms are NOT ASIC-resistant. I even heard a rumor about Equihash ASIC's, but that's a totally different story...

LOL I must admit I didn't expect an Equihash ASIC, though. I guess money can buy almost anything...

I am doing thorough tuning of default settings for all the cards I purchased recently and just realized how sloppy the previous default settings were. In any case, the next version should be so much better than the current one. We will see....

PLEASE do not put as default 1300/2200 core/mem for some algos. My micron rx580 doesn't work to that level, most can't go higher than 1174/2050! Or simply let the user choose somehow. Right now when I launched x16s it start, reach 7M, and all card start stopping and just one out of 4 / rig keep working.
on other hand, I gave a look to github.
when you start cleaning you really do!
