Hey everybody!
I'm in mooncoin since last summer. Bought at 6 and after subsat dump thought it was the end of coin. But now I think I am wrong. With new dev team we have a bright future!
I have some questions. Where I should keep my coins? Now I hold them at the 0.10 wallet is it safe?

the wallet is fine.

or you could move them onto a paper wallet.

i have 8 paper wallets.  7 actually, i screwed up on one and lost the keys.  (totally my stupidity)

luckily it was only a million.

(when making a paper wallet, make sure you do it OFFLINE-etc  ) follow those directions...

however the big part is, print out the address BEFORE you move coins to it.  (thats what i didnt do, and never did!)

after that, just make sure you put the papers in a safe place.

Thank you giantkin, but it's too complicated. What about wallet? Should I upgrade it to 0.13, how to do it safe if necessary?
And I saw a new exchange Coinhouse.eu. I wonder if somebody use it?
Sorry tons of questions from the newbie who want's to be in.

no worries.   (dont upgrade to .13)  my .10 wallet works.  i think the .13 was a test fail. (wait until someone else says they are using it)

paper wallet is NOT complicated. rather easy.  i just forgot to print out the wallet.   kinda like going into the bank, withdrawing $100 and putting on the table and walking out.

wasnt the banks fault.  all mine.

You should update to the latest wallet  0.13.9 Wallet SegWit. Using older wallets is at your own risk.

Wallets are something we'll look at, possibly for Android/IOS. One that is easier for newbies to download and use.
If we're to bring in new investment a user friendly method is vital.

Does anybody know whether this coin can now be used on any form or ecommerce website that can be used in turn as an exchange for goods and services? I don't want to use my coin for trading but rather for purchasing of goods and services.

Please before asking questions in the thread, read the OP (the original post).
The current version of wallet is 0.13.9 SegWit!
If you use 0.10.5, yes, now it works, but you will have big issues very soon (after the fork block 1,250,000).
You have to immediately upgrade to 0.13.9, if you didn't do that.
Exchanges told they updated the wallet months ago.

Re: giantkin, 0.13.0 (0.13) really had issues with transaction fees and with other bugs,
but it was fixed months ago by Vassilis Kritharakis, the current version 0.13.9 works fine, and exchanges already updated.
You may want to ask exchanges which wallet they use at the moment, if you have doubts.

If you use 0.10.5, after the fork block you will not be able to send your coins to exchanges,
and if you are not an experienced user, it will not be safe for you to use 0.10.5 after the block 1,250,000.

How to update to 0.13.9? Just run it (anyway before doing anything save your wallet.dat on an external USB card).

wrong thread.  there is no ico here.
it was ended a long time ago, idk why moderator didn't transfer this topic

Could you please clarify which ico did you mean?
Maybe you are in the wrong thread.
Mooncoin (MOON) was started in Dec, 2013 as a classic Proof-of-Work coin with no premine.
Since the beginning there was no any crowdsale (ico), and Mooncoin's nature is not compatible with an ICO model.

So the wallet.dat is the wallet itself? I must backup only it after any transaction?
For upgrade i just delete all other files, install new wallet and copy wallet.dat in the folder, right?
And what about coinhouse does somebody use it?

Yes you must backup and double backup this file, it is you coins! And keep copy in different place than main wallet.
I use coinhouse.eu they have some problems in February, but now all is ok. Quick deposits/withdrawals, but there is a lack of Moon/BTC market volume. Sometimes you need to wait for some (many) days to close the deal.

Happy to have you Trev.  My only request is that Moon keeps this board up to date please!  I don't have time to be on Discord/Twitter/Slack during the day so I try to consolidate here Smiley
