Well it looks like we have leaked photos and prices on the internet for the next miner to be released by Bitmain.  The Antminer L3, 250mhs scrypt miner, 400watts at the wall.

Looks like Alibaba and some of the alternate channels are pricing it around $2300, which probably means a price near $1800-1900 directly from Bitmain. Just my guess.  Looks like things are about to heat up in the Scrypt mining world.

According to online calculators, we can earn millions of XMR if we use an ASIC. is that true?

I knew they had one in works even said so a month or so back after bitmian put up a litecoin pool on there site, i knew it then, but my question now is it real this time ?. the L1 was suppose to do about the same speed but was a lot cheaper then im sure this will be.
IS this is a bitmain chip and not INNOSILICON A4 chip and it looks a lot like a A4 .. ?.

IF this is real it runs better then the A4 does at 256 MH and when the L1 went on sell it was suppose to do the same as the L3 is going to do  ? . if i remember right.

ANTMINER L1
L1 for sales $5/MH/s ships in December 2014 or 15, I forget but never happen .
599 USD    ( 0.625 BTC )

This price tag is 2k + sigh greed here we go again and bitmain trying to get it all. no wonder they dropped the fee for PPS Mining on there pool, why not with this coming out.

edit: the L1 if it had happen would have done 120 @ 380 watts, 3 of those still would have been better imo then a A 2 @ 110 mh or A4 at 256 mh by maybe 300 to 400 watts at the wall  with more speed then the A2 and all most the same speed as the A4 together. I may try my Best to get a a few L3's.if it is real, i was gonna buy a few L1's even had the cash waiting.

From the pictures they are certainly not using the Inno boards for this.  So it is a completely new design, but who knows what chips they are using.  Gonna get quite interesting around here!   Grin

Found this on AliExpress:
The chip used is: Processor Type:BM1485

This is gonna hurt INNOSILICON A4 if it really does 400 watts @ 250 MH, the first few batches of a the A4 are 136 MH @ 500 watts and the 256 MH @ 1000 watts give or take a few .

so yea this gonna get very interesting to see if they try to take over Alt mining that includes if  they some how come up with a miner that can do all alt coins, if they do say bye bye to GPU Mining for sure ,
I hope they don't ruin it for us.

notice i said I hope they don't and not they can't, if they can out do INNOSILICON like this they can, if they really want to . all ways remember nothing is impossible the sky is the limit .

o nice here we go, ya man, i hope its reliable :/

im happy to see that they are using  "BM1485" chips, that tells us that there could be potential for new Moonlanders! Cheesy

I had originally thought they would use "LK" BW chips.

Fricken eh, will be watching for one of these

So it has 4 cards and each one draws 100w  (400w/4).
Why then does it need 2 x 6pin connector per card?

Seems a little over engineered, no?

Or is that the power spec per card?

all bitmian miner after the S1 came with two PCIe plugs or more per board that I'm a ware of, even the S3 does/did but with the S3 you didn't need to use both plugs even my C1 which you could use one plug on each broad and still run at max speed with no issue , all it was a water cooled overclocked S3 , I stil have it and it works like it did when i bought it ,you could, i did because, it made me feel safer using all the plugs per board etc . the R1 and U3 didn't but are usb.

If you can read Chinese you can buy one today from Bitmain's website for 11000 CNY or 1.656 BTC. ($1600 USD)

https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020161229040715306ygMSJQLh06C0

And the specs do look like they pull only 400w from the APW3-1600.

So Bitmain is telling customers inside China they are shipping January 5th.  I wonder how long before we will get a chance to buy these...  Huh

With the crazy jump in difficulty since Dec. 27 potentially explained by these L3 units, the jump in hashrate would equate to about 1200 units being activated in a new data hall.  I'm guessing the bugs are well on their way to being worked  out.

Looks like the L3 is going to be what the A4 was supposed to be... A game changer.  This miner could force the retirement of the Titan's and even the A4's.  Of course the devil is in the details.

I read some place the reason for the difficulty drop right now is the holiday and may stay that way till after china's holiday are over around March 2017 or so . then it will it turn into a BTC difficulty, I'm Sure, then so much for script mining when that happen unless we can get cheaper better miners from another company other then bitmain which is unlikely. I do see it went back up to 70628.2150962 but also may drop back down till March or keep going up or down till then, then  it won't stop. "( sadly.

PS: the only hope we have beyond GPU home mining is SideHack for BTC miners as far as I know there is no one for Script miners and side won't make script miners and has said it a few times and not in a nice way .

At least if you want one L3 you don't need to make a group which is nice i guess.

Thanks top

Are you sure it is not vaporware (hope, hope) gonna put a crimp in my mining my KNC Titans (or folks A4's) into next winter for heat (always my backup plan...squeak into
winter 2017-2018 with borderline LTC asic miners someday and trade LTC for Electric to Heat and call it a draw to wrap up the home mining)

This could get really, really, and I mean really...ugly for difficulty and/or if the price of LTC and/or other scrypt does not surge in price.

To make up the difficulty you likely imho need to be at least at 0.008 ltc to btc from the current 0.00452 ltc to btc now

that would make EVERYONE be able so survive ..knc titans, a4's etc into my winter trick at least (sorry desert dwellers you are on your own) Smiley

Anyway we saw a lot of this kinda thing in Feb/Mar 2015 and NONE of the equipment came to pass....a guy can hope it is the same (I am soooo greedy)

but to be truthful knc titans bought in Nov 2014 and added since then to make 3150mh and I can 'slip' into them for even 'heat' this next winter

is way, way longer then I should have expected..just gonna be sooooooo bored w/o miners to play with in the house Sad
