This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?
Yes, specifically in Senior High School.  I guess, it is suited in computer subjects as part of binary topic. The topic on how technology evolve and how it affects the community is a good avenue to integrate it.  The idea of cryptocurrency must be introduce and after discussing it, a debate must made within the classroom why some country accept this kind of currency and why some country ban it.

In my own opinion, teaching bitcoin inside the classroom in not even necessary. The idea of bitcoin is very complicated and is not appropriate to teach to students because they're still studying. Bitcoin is for those people who wants to earn money because of different reasons like they experience financial problems or they sre saving to have a better life in the future. If bitcoin will be teach in school, they will now focus on earning money rather than studying.

I don't think we have to limit children at their age to learn about cryptocurrency, specifically the bitcoin. In my own opinion, children are sent to school by their parents to learn what their household life experience cannot teach them. They are sent to school to become literate in all matters specially in financial. Children have to study for more than 16 years to become prepared for the real world. The corporate world and the world of investment-and bitcoin is now part of it! It may not be necessarily be included in the curriculum but I believe that schools should allow bitcoin enthusiast or volunteers to impart the foundation of bitcoin learning. At the end of the day, this will be beneficial to the children.

I agree, because like anywhere in the today knowledge will technology that should be in taught since the early, even though only the basis of her, but the students at least will know and would not be confused when she heard bitcoin as many of those who had heard, interested and want to steeped in her but confused because not have the knowledge of the basis of bitcoin

For me, I think it is not advisable to teach bitcoin in schools especially those kids who are too young because they won't appreciate it. They should focus more on practical things that are they need to know and become more successful when they get old. We can teach bitcoin to those teenagers who have interest to learn about it, so we can easily make them understand.

Maybe Bitcoin could be included in some subject that teaches about finances, so not as a separate one. This would be maybe better if there are some parents who would object if too much attention would be given only to Bitcoin. But to my opinion young people should be introduced to Bitcoin as a part of their general knowledge and financial culture.
Yes, i think teaching and learning bitcoining in subject related to managing funds and money and other related issues would be great because at a young age, teens will surely learn how to manage their money well at the same time learn lessons about economics and also maube in the future, they can use it as their job. Maybe some parents will be against about this but if this program will be explained to them, well, i think there will be no reason for them to object.

The problem is that we don't have much enough global adoption. For example before Einstein discovered the theory of relativity, the classrooms, or the techears or the curriculums before that discovery is not teaching it on physics class. So I think let's wait for a few years and BTC will be written in the history books, in the e-commerce courses and in the economics and finance. Time is changing and so does the teachings.
I think if Im going to have a daughter or son I wonder if my kids will learn blockchain in school. Smiley

for its technical it is not possible to happen to the class. because bitcoin is a digital currency not recommended by the state. Even if allowed to be taught in the class, only certain countries that legalize bitcoin. while other countries will know the bitcoin from the internet. and in school they will be taught lessons and knowledge that legend by state. such as the country's currency

i personally think that bitcoin is one of the best topic and most important topic everyone can/should and will understand. its not about only money its more than that. its our future its the technology that opens the doors of open source and living in the reallity with complete freedom.

I think its also important? This is future technology so we will stay in the back if we dont learn it.
But in this case, bitcoin in classroom can not be realized in country which is not legalized bitcoin.

maybe we can teach bitcoin in the classroom so they can know what bitcoin benefits for them and they can start to learn basic of bitcoin and try to use it. but we don't need to teach them until they know the deep of bitcoin, we only need to teach them about how bitcoin works, what bitcoin can do for them, why bitcoin can help them to solve their financial problem. maybe it is like an economic lesson for them and I think they will be like it.

Yes, bitcoin in classrooms teach students new era of currency, about cryptocurrency, virtual currency. Next to this it is also gives idea about mathematical algorithms. Mainly for IT persons it isthe  key for new thinking. Bitcoin is a digital currency and the futures of currency, so everyone knows it from school level.

I personally think its great, and I think it will be the trend.

With Bitcoin will happen the same as what happened to the Internet.
No one talked about it in classrooms a few decades ago. But today, you will not find a decent school that does not talk about it.

It's good to learn bitcoins but it should not be mixed with subjects. Better to separate bitcoins from subjects even in math. It is best to have a new subject, which is Bitcoins only to learn. To better understand the students and to make them easier to know. But hopefully it will happen in the future that bitcoins are well accepted as a subject of study.

There is a good news from Australia,

* Australian Primary School Students Explore Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technology.

It's not only about Bitcoin but blockchain has much more potential than that of the sectors in which we are using it today. Things are going to change rapidly but education system won't so it is beneficial for us to teach our kids about this technology in order to create a better and skilled workforce to maintain this technology on a bigger level. Thus, I support the idea of including this part in the academic curriculum.

I think that the basics of the functioning of crypto currency must be introduced already at school and it is not so important in what particular subject it will be. It is important here that the children from the school understand that the crypto currency has appeared on one of the stages of the development of electronics and that this is actually a branch of science that has become used for the existence of digital money. So that they understand that digital money is a deep technical development, and not fraud, as they sometimes say even in power structures. In specialized higher education institutions, it is necessary to explain in more detail the technology of blockchein and how digital money works on this technology.

I think it's necessary to teach children about chain application knowledge in class, but try not to teach children to do bitcoin and other encryption currencies. It may not be good for the children's growth

Yes, I agree. Bitcoin can be part of discussions in a class, but it cannot be a subject itself. It only plays part of the subject but not subject of its own. It can be a good example of how demand and supply concept goes. This may be one of the ways to introduce bitcoin to people, and best thing is to teach this to students so that they will learn it deeply how it run through the society.

I would love to have that in schools, but merging it to the other subjects makes other students confuse. I think it is much better if its an another subject. Much better if you teach this in college level, were students have the right or willingness to choose a subject and they atleast have the idea of it. Rather than teach it to elementary level students that still learning the basic of math. Or might as well to have  a course all regarding bitcoins, crytocurrencies, how to trade them and any other thing that is releted to ecurrencies that is best to be part of a curriculum. Like in Russia, im not sure if they have the course or subject about bitcoins.
