This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?

Its a good project and it will be much more interesting than the boring calculations, plus this will be a part of the financial literacy. This will helps the kids in the long term to make good financial decisions, and personally I would like my kid to learn finance this way coupled with maths and I would be able to help him. So I would like to see this project implemented as fast as possible. Post your report here once completed.

Its a good idea but i dont think that any governments would deliberately allow to teach about bitcoins in classrooms. Already, governments see bitcoin as a threat to their economy and they fear of suffering huge revenue losses due to bitcoins. I heard a small micro nation liberland has announced bitcoin as their national currency and such steps can be taken in such countries to teach about bitcoins.

I think it would just make math more complicated when bitcoin would be teach in school like this "teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that)," Am I right?. It would be okay if bitcoin would be teach on what it is really are, and not be applied on different subjects like math. Teaching how bitcoin works, and the ways on how you can earn it is the best to teach in school, just my opinion.

it will eventually be teached like they are teaching something now that was not present some decade ago, you need a new generation before this will be true

also it's not true that every government see bitcoin in a bad way, europe just want to contorl it more, they are already accetpting it, otherwise they would not expemt it from vat

Your project actually could achieve both purposes whether math lesson or introduce bitcoin in financial management.
There's nothing wrong about it and you can do it as long as it's approved by 'the one' in charge.
Moreover, the class will get used to bitcoin.

The project is good and will give a significant impact on the next and next generation to come , but before to propose this we need first full adaptation from all around the world to consider bitcoin and other alts as an official governmental payment gateway.

Applying bitcoin in different subjects in school like math would just make things complicated. Because instead of thinking about the formula or variables, they would be confuse about this satoshis that they need to find to complete something. But, if they are going to teach bitcoin directly without applying it on the subjects, I think it would be more helpful for them and would easily understand by the student. They would also know that earning bitcoin is just easy and not that hard like what they think.

It's right that to implement bitcoin in the math it will make the subject more complicated but the opposite happen in IT course, implementing about learning bitcoin in IT course will make your knowledge wider and also might be useful for future purpose, just if the students know how is cryptography then it's better than know nothing.

I doubt we will ever get there honestly even If bitcoin becomes known and used everywhere (speaking about math) but when It comes to IT/programming and how cryptography works then Its definitely that should be used and I guess there are already some courses in Coursera that does that , In fact I don't see better examples then bitcoin.

Exactly, Simply because how bitcoin works is kinda complicated and when it is being taught on IT students it could increase their logical reasoning that really is must to me as well as an IT

I heard a small micro nation liberland has announced bitcoin as their national currency and such steps can be taken in such countries to teach about bitcoins.
Bitcoin is taught in many universities these days not like a course of study but many professors describe bitcoin as good example in between different subjects including finance to cryptography.

I have searched about liberland, found that it is still not recognized as a country and i laughed at the criteria they have to get citizenship  Grin

Even many local people are doing some advertising that they can arrange class who don't about bitcoin, but it will take time to get this things more clear to people mind. Already people making their own chart to get people trained by themselves, it does not need any math to get familiar. Already bitcoin is made with little programming there is no need of any further programming to explain to people.

But in my opinion your idea to put bitcoin as additional learning subject even to teach How many satoshi needed to get some btc is not too important for students. I mean students in the classroom have too many science or social subjects to Learn rather than learning bitcoin in school.

Well, that would be on the other side. Both IT students and economy students has different perspective. When it comes to software development obviously that would be for IT but when it comes to managment economy students would come a long. Even the engineering students can contribute when it comes to physical development

Well you implement Bitcoin in their learning plan then it would give kids or teens have a hard time learning them. Can you imagine solving problems related to Bitcoin. They must know Bitcoin forst and its fiat currency value before they even arrive at a solution. It would give kids a lot of confusion.
I quite agree with you. it would be difficult to be understood by children. they should focus on the core subjects and also they still have the right to play. the children have each daily that we can not interfere.
Bitcoin can be learned from internet it no need to implement into school just to waste another subject and money for nothing there are some important thing that school need to add, How can bitcoin become a solving problem how about other subject like Algebra ? Trigo ? And other math course? Yeh it can be minor subject to waste another 200$ Children will never understand this kind of subject all about money i don't think soo.

Wow! This is a very nice idea!
Bitcoin being discuss in the classroom will be very interesting. The student will not only be familiarize with bitcoin but also they will learn to earn from it while studying. Im pretty that would be the most favorite subject of the students in their classroom Wink

I think bitcoin is already discussing in some schools i forgot that what country already announce it here before..
And i think it is a good idea if it can be added in school to discuss for your student.. so that they know about bitcoin and they can know how it works.. unlike in other schools that they said bitcoin is scam they are just adding the text book that bitcoin are uses for illegal activity..

Solving blocks can't be solved without my rigs.

Bitcoin in the classroom here in my country is a big no for now because our economics here is only specific on what currency we are using like a fiat currency money that we usually use in everyday spending. Maybe it will took a long time to let our teaching system to adopt lessons about bitcoin, discussing its uses on how it works on economic system of digital crypto currency.

What do you guys think of this?

to teach bitcoins or to use bitcoins in teaching
one has to introduce several notions such as:blockchain, mint, decentralised money etc. etc.
think it can be used for things like IT or programming or cryptography but not math(or any basic stuff for kids)
simply because you cannot teach simple things using more complicated as a basis
I agree. Math is math if you wanna teach math it's all about math problems only teaching math is different from bitcoin. You can teach bitcoin using seminar. But using it in school lesson a very big no. We cannot do that because the learning focus of that is academics lesson not bitcoin lesson.
