in no distant time btc is taking over paypal. Paypal used to be the most trusted but are now losing trust from its customers due to insecurity issues.......

Insecurity issues? What issues are you exactly referring to? PayPal is seeing its user base grow quite rapidly, so I seriously doubt they are losing trust. If you make certain claims, then at least provide some details to back up your claim, because as it is now, there are none, and thus your claim of PayPal having issues hold no value.
I agree.  I don't condone PayPal and definitely don't believe that it's an ideal payment method, but PayPal is generally doing pretty well right now.

I think that this shows the misconception that because Bitcoin is doing well, other payment methods must be doing poorly, which is certainly not the case.  Bitcoin is still only a tiny fraction of the market and PayPal offers a convenience through its centralisation and use of fiat currency that Bitcoin cannot realistically provide despite the optimism of many of its users.

Bitcoin is widely being accepted globally many websites are using it as means of payment with the way it is now it will overcome paypal in the nearest future, easy way of keeping Bitcoin in a wallet makes it even easier for it acceptability globally.

Well bitcoin is accepted globally but it is still not being accepted by majority of websites and I can say that they are still few in the market. However, those are already a good significant that bitcoin is getting stronger but the fact that PayPal is still good to go and online businesses and merchants are still preferring on using it.
Yeah the only way to use bitcoin in more places is to use one of those bitcoin debit cards and use it to buy stuff on the internet but I don’t feel comfortable doing that since I want to be able to buy things directly with bitcoin and not use those methods.

We can't use bitcoins directly buy from an unknown site without any escrow service. But in a case of Paypal, they protect buyers from any fraud or scammers, and that's why many buyers prefer to use Paypal than bitcoins. As of now, bitcoins are popular only in gambling industry, but if you want to buy other things then we have to convert it to fiat first then only can use it.

in my country as the number of bitcoin users are not enough therefore i do not think that we will have the facility to use bitcoin card to be use for shopping purposes. but we are hopeful that in future when the number of bitcoin users will increase then we will be able to use bitcoin cards also.

Nevertheless, I think that Bitcoin and PayPal will co-exist in the future as mediums to transact money with them, as both have their advantages and disadvantages. It is up to the user to choose which is his or her preferred payment method, when making a transaction.

From my point of view, if Bitcoin would scale up to a point where it can handle large TPS, it would become easily adopted by major merchants and businesses worldwide, leaving path for the digital currency to become a big competitor against traditional payment networks.

Bitcoin will overcome PayPal, this written in the rock. What will be its advantage will be that your funds can not be confiscated without any possibility for you to appeal. This is the reason that keeps me far from PayPal as for exemple.

I think not, bitcoin will not overcome PayPal. PayPal is online payment service and bitcoin is digital currency, these are to different things. There will be always people who will have need for such services that PayPal offers so I don't think they will disappear or be replaced by bitcoin.

I totally agree with you. Bitcoin and PayPal are used for far more different purposes. Since Bitcoin is a Digital currency and PayPal is a payment service, The only way I see both of them coming is If there's a Popular Bitcoin Payment Service that can do what paypal does (Ease of payments for goods & services) Then That's the only way Bitcoin can be in competition with PayPal.

Aside that, Bitcoin & Paypal are different. Same goes for BTC/USD

Just wait and watch after 5 years bitcoin surely overce the PayPal.  In feature wise bitcoin is better than PayPal in all the aspects. Fees are very low when compares with any money transaction modes. Once its become legal then bitcoin would be the king of money transfers.

It is not insecurity issue I guess, it is now because of irreverssible transaction, because buyers can get their money back after 180 days of transaction which is so bad in the part of the seller . Bitcoins has no such issues.

but to me i think in some places both have the same purpose, as both can be use for online payment purpose. as we can see in most of online shops they have the options to use bitcoin or paypal as payment method.

paypal offers:
instant transaction
relatively low fees,no fees if sending to merchant.
high security for buyer but usually both parties-trust
ease of use.

id say only limit pp has its strict rules of what can be used for purchasing, and lack of wider coverage, thus 3rd world countries many dont even have access to PP.

while anynimty is a bonus, but that could be argued, since its not much different has having bank account,or getting prepaid card of third party and providing your details, since given current situation its quite hard to buy btc without giving bunch of your personal details to some 3rd party that youd hardly trust.

BTC has its strenghts in different areas, but mainstream purchases isn't one.

It's considered as using bitcoin directly if you are using bitcoin debit cards for buying stuffs online. Actually we really don't need that bitcoin debit card, it's just a feature by those major exchanges like xapo to make their very own bitcoin debit card which is really a good tool for using it for buying things online if we want to.

This is a good point, since PayPal is established as a payment method. There are other uses for Bitcoin so I think it can survive while PayPal does as well.

I generally do not understand why to disrupt these systems. They both act independently and do not depend on each other. They are not competitors. PayPal is a payment system for a currency

i think bitcoin is also a good source of payment method, but bitcoin can also be use as investment, bitcoin itself is also a currency which can be use for shopping online while in some places it can also be use for shopping in local shops.
