I threw in 1BTC

We'll see how it all turns out.

i have invest some btc too on this project
hope will get nice return  Wink

What's the expeted price short/long term? $1? $50? $100??

may be max $50 in long term it will make a 25 billion cap if they manage 500 million in ICO

$50?!  I think we'd be very lucky if it ever hits $1 but sure, if it hits $50 I'll buy a lambo with you guys, hahaha.   Tongue

Hahaha...true that. Just look at the valuation  of other hyped ICO's of the year status and BAT. They are struggling to float above their ICO price. Exclusivity my friends is the thing, if supply of token is too high, everyone will have it, and no on wants to buy it.

According to this article in the guardian, the prospectus states that they were only supposed to go for about 893k in tokens on July 1st. We are far and beyond that by miles

this may sound churlish to you 'hardened professional investors', but for me the bottom line about Tezos is that i don't particularly like the founders as people. they have been arrogant, bombastic, and sarcastic in their own slack and reddit channels toward far too many people over the last three months. they're just not for me. money is not the only measure.

They do seem to be a bunch of douchebags, which makes me think when the price tanks they probably won't do a damn thing about it.

Could you please provide some examples? I'm too lazy to research on my own.

Yeah the owners dont seem like people persons but neither was Steve Jobs and many other successful business owners. I think the main question here is can they make this business great or sink it with their ego. Time will tell.

I agree. It has been shown in studies that many powerful CEOs have a lot of the same character traits as what people would classify as "sociopaths."   So the personalities of the members of the board shouldn't weigh too heavily in your thoughts as to if you want to invest to try and make money or not

Nobody knows which way this one is going to go, but if you have some disposable coins to toss at it...it couldn't hurt to just put a little into it.

Nobody has a crystal ball...BTC and ETH (while unlikely), could be half their current price by the end of next month.

Pretty likely, shakeout coming.
However, I'm not selling any because in the big picture it will go much higher. Think about those who dumped at $600-$800 on btcs way to sub $200, only never to buy them back. They felt pretty good for a year or so, now not so much.

In US dollars, does anyone know what the largest amount received in contributions for an ICO?

I think I was reading that Brock Pierce's was the largest to date raising 100 million. If that's tru this has already surpassed right?

Yup, currently Tezos is at aprox US$ 135,866,523.33 it will certainly surpass Bancor record.

EOS raised ~680k ETH for 20% of the supply, so about ~$170m

That's the largest crowdsale ever in $
