$116m funding for 21 inc

http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2015/03/10/secretive-bitcoin-startup-21-reveals-record-funds-hints-at-mass-consumer-play/

Quote
Qualcomm’s involvement could spur speculation that 21 has its sights on the so-called “Internet of Things.”

wow!  Shocked

Quote
According to Silicon Valley investors such as those taking stakes in 21, say that failure to gain mass adoption is partly because the public’s attention has been misguidedly focused on bitcoin’s limited potential as a digital alternative to traditional currencies. In reality, they say, its underlying technology has far wider applications than that. Unlike the currency transactions that are generally associated with bitcoin, these new uses could range from lawyer-free smart contracts to tamper-proof online voting systems.

They'll start using the blockchain technology for other services. Bitcoin the currency has failed in their perspective.
Anyway, I agree with them, that the technology is great but bitcoin the currency is a gimmick.
So, tough luck for all of the "i'll-just-sit-on-my-ass-while-becoming-rich" folks.

This blockchain... that is separate from the currency that you speak of, how do you envisage the network to be supported and by whom and why would they be willing to support this petahash beast? will they do it for charity? (and how will they motivate others to be involved)

(edit: I am not saying there are not more applications for the tech, not at all I am a firm believer that there is... but my question still stands... what do you envisage is going to happen?)

Still no $300 I was hoping we'll be there today. The market is positive, but it looks like there's a lot of people who waited for this price to sell.
If we survive this without much downward movement it will eventually continue to go up.

We already hit $300 earlier on Finex, saw retrace, and are now working back up.

I think stamp is dying..

I think that without REAL USD flowing into the market all the other exchanges that provide margin trading will crash lower  Undecided

What about the EUR flowing into the market? I see big potential in EUR

Fake EUR and Fake USD will work just fine, if not we'll use some Fake CNY.

All time low of the decade for Euro/USD. I predict CCMF soon... Smiley

I just bought some coins now and it felt so great Smiley i hope it won't be like always when i bought coins, we went down a lot...maybe this time we go up guys? Pretty please? Smiley

Buy high, sell low!  Grin

Seriously, you buy after 10 days of continuous rise. Risk is big that we go down now.

You're a motherfucking liar. we've had red candles 3 out of the last seven days. This is a steady rise, not parabolic.

I love you too.

Daily chart clearly proves you wrong on every major exchange. 10 days? That's not just inaccurate; it's misleading and deceptive.  Care to retract your bullshit statement?

Relax man. Take a deep breath. Go out for a little walk, and when your stress is down, just look at the charts again. Price was 254 ten days ago and 240 12 days ago. So yes, it was not a perfect ramp up, but it is an impressive pump and buying today is not that smart.

Well good morning afternoon Bitcoinland. Slept in a little (damned time change) and crazy busy.

It's nice to see the post-auction "dump" proceeding as planned. LOL

$300 finally touched, if only on Finex and only temporarily, but $290 just might hold.

How much longer before that ask wall at Stamp gets eaten through arbitrage?

Peoples reluctance to keep cash on stamp seems to keep this train from flying off the rails.

right now stamp is nothing(check the volume stats)

But it's almost 6000 to $300 on stamp and just 1360 on finex. So low volume on stamp means low price on stamp. And the price won't let there be more than $10-12 difference between the two for any length of time.

Thats because there is hardly any fiat on Stamp. Its almost as if the market thinks that if they buy coins there and try and withdraw them en mass they may not exist, I wonder why the market might think that  Roll Eyes  Once bitten twice shy, people slowly learn their lessons and don't deal with exchanges that refuse to prove their reserves or even answer any questions about the state of their solvency.

What you're saying sort of goes back to my original post. Bitstamp shouldn't be trailing BTC-E like it has been for much of the day. If the other exchanges leaves stamp behind and nobody dares to do arbitrage then I think we might see stamp implode.

I'd be more focused on the EU exchanges at the moment. The EUR/USD seems not a random case. Here's the reason:

http://rt.com/news/238981-putin-signs-brics-bank/

It seems BRICS finally made a move.

Wouldn't want to be in charge of that bank. Just waiting for the first news story on how it funded the development of the villas of the bosses of PetroBras, Gazprom and PetroChina.

Ha, yeah you're right with that, I guess Cheesy But it's part of the fun... You know, a Bitcoin bull-market only lasts 1/3 of a Bitcoin bear-market. It's like summer in Siberia... You have to enjoy it while it lasts!
