It looks like China is sleep buying bitcoins again.

Youre wrong, m8, western manipulators use goxobi's 0% trading fees to create small pump using wash volume being traded by their bots with only one purpose - to force fools to cancel shorts and create more fat buy support to dump on. Same scheme: wash volume spikes while riceeaters are asleep, waiting for fools to cancel shorts, then dump (i bet its gonna happen on monday due to auction news).

Nothing but a thought came to my mind thinking of Bitcoins in past and Bitcoins currently...

...
Secondly people who think that the coins would be dumped just don't understand the sort of people who are bidding. They are investment firms etc that have no interest in just dumping on the market for a few thousand $ profit...

Another variant of "rich folks are different from you and me, Martha."
How is it still getting play here?
Anyone care to explain why 50K BTC won't be dumped @ market if these coins were bought @$100?
Would translate to some serious scratch, locked in, immediately.

i think the auction is legit.... dealing drugs is one thing........but when you start ripping everyone off, killing people, threatening to kill people; then your ass is garbage and you belong in jail. #straightup gratz on your successful auction marshal's ... i own two b4c camaros from albuqueque and a undercover t-top firebird from los angeles (i just got this one) i got from auctions....and i have owned three other 9c1's before those i got from auctions. drug dealing is one thing....but there are a lot of bad people out there that belong in jail and from what i have read that silk road guy was a piece of trash. this is why i disagree with the sentiment around here that is against the auctions.

Who did he kill, and why wasnt he charged with this? Huh Huh Huh

Other than that, you're basically saying crime is ok, as long as you get a cheap trashy car from it, Yeah?

my cars arent trash dorky .. i got the good ones. you jealous ??

seems i'm not the only one who buys from their auctions....

how many coins now ??

Dorky?  Seriously?  The US Marshals must be getting desperate if they accept bidding from 12 year old kids.

show us an instagram of your bidding card or this is bullshit.

yeah seriously.. fukoff ...i did not bid on the marshals auction. i aint rich biatch...if i was i would be driving a singapore vanquisher and be on a boat right now.

...alleged attempts to hire the murder of several people..
So, he didnt kill anyone? But we are going to just say that, like, its the same thing, kinda?

According to the FBI, there are emails in his laptop where Ross offers to pay the Hells Angels in Canada for the murder of a supplier who was threatening to denounce Ross if he did not help the supplier to recover a large sum that another SilkRoad client was owing him (which he in turn owed to the Hells Angels, it seems).  It is not known whether the supplier was actually killed.  Some of those emails were published as evidence in the drug trafficking trial.  That was not the only case of Ross trying to hire a murder, IIRC.

The trial in Maryland was supposed to look at the murder-hiring charges specifically.  Has it been called off?

I think they were bought at ~180-200$, so there will be a dump. Even Draper hinted that he has bought his stash below market, but fools cannot learn that there always was a huge dump after every past auction.

This was the last one I guess...
So I think we should not talk bearish currently as it might surprise everyone out there...

Secondly people who think that the coins would be dumped just don't understand the sort of people who are bidding. They are investment firms etc that have no interest in just dumping on the market for a few thousand $ profit, they are after liquidity for their ventures.

There is no evidence for those claims.

The first 30'000 were snapped by Tim Draper who said he intended to "provide liquidity" for Vaurum, an enterprise he had invested in.  Both on that and the next auction, SecondMarket formed syndicates of small bidders who could not afford to bid for a whole 2000 lot; and such bidders grabbed 48'000 of the 50'000 coins. The other 2000 coins were bought by Tim Draper again, this time to fuel his son's Boost incubator.

SecondMarket bid on their own this time, not for the fund but for their OTC trading desk.

"Provide (BTC) liquidity for" some market means "sell those BTC to clients of that market as soon as the bids get a little above their buying price".

OTC markets and the open markets on the exchanges are all connected by brokers-arbitragers-marketmakers.  Dumping 50'000 coins on the OTC market has the same final effect as dumping on the exchanges, only that the damage will happen gradually over weeks or months, rather than all of a sudden.

He (literally) kept a diary where he reminisced about it at length. <=not joking!

Just wait until monday and you will see what is going to happen after this yet another wash volume chinese fake "pump". If you dont wanna be bulltraped by chinese shitty wash volume scheme like this one - you need to read candles - ~4k of btc has been "bought" on okgox within 1 hour, but look at the buy support - 150 btc until 1700 cny, its simple to figure out such type of manipulation. Bots on chinese exchanges create such flash spikes forcing idiots on other exchanges to cancel shorts and to place fat buys, then comes the dump.

Where do you actually see so-called "Volume" you are talking about?
Both the sides don't actually have any volume these days as compared to the previous ones whilst the auction was not even announced. The crash is actually "DONE" and I think it's time for the whales to wake up and pump, you know, "weak hands got out". And yes, I don't think there might come something major on Monday.

The triangle seems to break to the upside. But no major pump yet, hmm...

We are slowly going up, it doesn't feel like the usual pumps.

Lol, m8, you just dont get it - flash dump to 160$ was a totally manipulated scheme to rip off "weak hands", but it was only 1 phase of manipulation, now stage 2 is being in progress: there will be a huge flash dump to 160$ atleast to rip off those who didnt sell at previous flash dump. Its gonna happen soon, because there will be no major auction and negative news after next 44k btc auction, so they need to accomplish pretty soon, after that - there will be the new ATH this year, but not before. Learn more about methods of wallstreet scumbags, people wanted them to come into this market, and they had come long ago.

There were 10 blocks of 3,000 bitcoin and 10 blocks of 2,000 bitcoin available for bid. According to Kardashev Capital, whose bid of $221.51 per bitcoin was approximately 17 percent under the market value of the coins as of the close of bidding on Thursday, it did not win any lots. Bloomberg reports that SecondMarket also failed to win any blocks. Brendan O’Connor, managing director at New York-based SecondMarket, told Bloomberg that the trading division bid for every block, but was entirely unsuccessful.
