Whoa. I almost went daytarding out of pure boredom. Did I dodge a bullet here? I thought BTC-e was the wild west. They get scurred of dirty coins? |

hmmmm ... so ... it seems some % of the stolen evolution dark market coins are now being held by the btc-e admins , for now fucking up the usability of the exchange for everyone else in the process ... coins which were of course originally stolen from drug dealers arms traffickers and the like have now been functionally confiscated by one of the "anonymous exchanges" ... gotta love the irony in that ... i guess the original thieves figured they'd sell them there ? possibly in an effort to mix them and withdraw "clean" coins from the exchange or simply to attempt a fiat withdrawal from btc-e after hocking thousands of ill-gotten non-mixed coins ? ... wow ... how fucking dumb can you get ... of course btc-e is pretty much the go-to exchange for the final step of converting stolen coins into fiat payoff but it's not *the only step* ... duh ! ... have these folks never heard of a fence before ? or a mixer service ? or know how to mix coins themselves ? or maybe they were fenced and they lied (surprise!) to the fence ? ... i mean damn ... if anyone out there needs some consultation work on *how to be a better criminal* my rate is 1btc per hour ...

It's more along the lines of preservation and prevention of being another victim exchange. ~ as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action. synonyms: sufferer, injured party, casualty; More a person who is tricked or duped.  Case in point the end of an Era   UPDATE: Withdrawals are being reviewed and people are able to do them once checked for "malicious activity"  |

Never thought I'd see the day where BTC-e starts policing the coins on their exchange. Bitstamp of finex probably, but not BTC-e. Are they going to start verifying ID's too?

So at what point does the (insert govt name here) Govt come to the exchanges and demand all of these "dirty" coins. After all they were part of unlawful activity, therefore they all go to the Govt. Kind of like cash forfeitures.

One thing to remember about technology and the btc network is that it will adapt to deal with intolerable actions. Such as a distributed exchange. |
