hacking the system hackers

Quote
Two indictments, unsealed Tuesday, tied three of four suspects to previously reported hacks of JPMorgan Chase & Co., E*Trade Financial Corp., Scottrade Financial Services Inc. and Dow Jones & Co., a unit of News Corp.

Hackers and conspirators in more than a dozen countries generated hundreds of millions of dollars in illicit proceeds om pump-and-dump stock schemes and particularly lucrative online gambling, prosecutors said.

The global network, with 100 employees and co-conspirators, stretched from Israel to the U.S., with a dozen online casinos and payments that ran through Cyprus, Azerbaijan and Switzerland.

The co-conspirators deceived financial institutions into processing and authorizing payments to and from the casino companies and others, prosecutors wrote in their latest indictment of Gery Shalon, Joshua Aaron and Ziv Orenstein, who they say are at the center of the scheme. Shalon and Orenstein were arrested in Israel in July. Aaron remains at large.

That caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting any big moves today and definitely not that China would synchronize it's price with USD markets.

Lol.  You mean that Chinese exchange accounts couldn't possibly be owned by the same whale that own Stamp and Bitfinex accounts?

Nice posts lately...Cheers!

Not sure why anyone is surprised by the move...@ohyperjacked on Twitter

This bubble really reminds me that I should sign an advance health care directive for the worst case. If something is inevitable, I wouldn't want to suffer as long as the current Bitcoin exchange rate. Common guys, kill the price already, the only ones earning here are the doctors of the bubble.

Likely, they already do.  According to Europol, Bitcoin accounts for over 40% of criminal-to-criminal online payments. Smiley

Well ain't that fantastic?

It's bitcoin's niche, that's for sure. Did you know that it's not just for shitty overpriced drugs and CP anymore? Sure! Why, CryptoWall alone has raised over $325 million in bitcoin, and now even real-life kidnappers have taken a fancy to our coin of choice!

Some info that may or may not be accurate. Sergej Mavrodi, the founder of a monetary pyramid MMM that stripped many Russians of their meagre savings during the Wild 90's is back in action. Yesterday he said that Bitcoin is useful for his MMM projects operating from China, and that he can crash the price at any moment if he chooses to do so.

http://www.rbc.ru/finances/09/11/2015/564098689a794742da316379

I am not sure if what he says is 100% correct or if he draws attention to himself, but I wouldn't underestimate his ignominious "talent" for parting people with their money. To put things into perspective, compared to Mavrodi and his MMM, Karpeles and Mt.Gox was an exemplary honest company headed by a charitable founder.

Personally, I'd rather see BTC at 250 without Mavrodi, than at 500 with him.

About several days ago, I had created various staggered limited buy orders on Gemini from $329 and down to $301, and with my available cash in that account, I had intended to put a couple more limited buy orders down to $285 or $290, but for some reason I forgot to put the remaining one or two orders.

This morning, I was notified that ALL of my outstanding Limited buy orders on Gemini had been filled down to $301, and it looks like such limited buy orders would have been filled down to $243, if I had placed them...

Fuck...   I shouldn't be greedy, but it would have been nice if I would have at least put my available cash to work a little more than I had.. ... I had just gotten distracted and forgot to verify that I still had some cash being held in that Gemini account.
