Crucial support has been broken around 3800 USD. The 'back to normal' phase is drawing to an end.
The large move down is about to begin, the one that will confirm the bear market in the coming days and weeks.

You're sort of like Nostradamus, aren't you?

THIS IS THE LAST UPDATE OF THE LIST

Ok, you win. Put me on 7th of January, 2018.

I think it will be sidelined until them, going up and down in the 4000's.

(Long time lurker, finally posting now ;-) )

I'd be surprised to see it go down below $3000 in the foreseeable future. I would imagine at this point people seeing buying opportunities would negate the people who are selling off but of course I could be wrong.

Even if it is only at $2000 by January 2018 and rises from there, That's still a doubling of value from the year before.

Crucial short term support, at least so it appears.

But indeed, over the longer term there are more interesting numbers of solid support.

Every time the price oscillates and moves a little (which is totally 100% normal - and expected and necessary) it doesn't mean we are going to $1000 nor does it mean we are going to $10,000

Hey guys, the stock market is going to go up forever! The public is sure of it.

Interesting, even the huge economic catastrophe of Lehman Brothers et al. back in 2008 did not push it down much. Oh, yes it will go up forever!  Grin Grin Grin
As far as I'm concerned, the only good thing that came out from 2008 is the Bitcoin White Paper.
Bitcoin deserves that kind of steady growth, s&p500 will collapse eventually

Well good morning Bitcoinland.

Woke up just in time to see we're having a dip... currently $3720USD/#4580CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Not a buying opportunity yet but if it goes down this much again, I'll consider it.

Meanwhile, AltcoinCash is also falling... currently $444USD/$550CAD (Coinmarketcap).

Up, down, up, down, bouncy, bouncy.

Good for day traders, I suppose.

I just want the bears weaklings to sell all they have, so the price can go up.  Grin

The S&P500 contains survivors bias - failed firms fall out of it and are replaced. To the extent therefore that corporates make returns on equity and pay out less than those returns to shareholders then yes on average the S&P goes up. Also as the USD devalues the value of "real assets" increases (including stocks) and so the S&P increases as the USD is devalued. The S&P only falls to zero if the value of the biggest 500 corporates in America falls to zero

With all of those 500 companies buying back their own stock shares, and central banks buying up stocks as well, what could possibly go wrong?  Wink

But of course, I don't think many of those companies will ever file bankruptcy, since the Fed and central banks have their backs. Just another bail-in here, another round of QE there, and voila! Back in business, man.
