guys

I'm not seeing this as a "confirmed breakout" just yet

draw a line, log scale mind you, from the 4979.9 ATH to this and it touches at 4692 on Sept 8

this is a good hard bump of the upper trend, granted, but so far nothing more

I will risk being tiresomely repetitive and again call your attention to the, as yet untested, rising support line currently ~$2885

As I understand both going down and now going up are news driven... I also suspect something is upcoming...
So not sure if TA is helpful in this case, but ofc, it's all speculation

... Why do I keep talking crap on here and my activity is always 28 tho? Sad

Big Picture Elliot Wave Analysis:

Bitcoin going back to $200 in next great correction prior to reaching the $20k range. He counts the waves differently and gets the same pattern each time.

That is savage. If it goes to $200 do you not think we will be done?

I had a dream last night that we went to $750, but then i woke up and we were at $3950.

Bitfinex stats:

27,609 BTC margin Short
16,771 BTC margin Long

Those shorts will have to cover.  Not a good situation for them.

I would be very surprised if bitcoin ever went below $1k again, there would be a lot of people buying at that level, myself included.

Retraces always surprise people. Unfortunately it doesn't prevent them from occurring.

Well, let me rephrase and say, I would be pleasantly surprised. People over use the term "cheap coins", but $200 bitcoins would be quite nostalgic!

$200 coins would probably not be good for bitcoin.

I have trouble imagining prices going below $1500, and sure it has got to get below $2500 and $2k first, which in themselves seem to be stretches, but a little more reachable.

Every Elliot Wave analyst I've seen has predicted a retest at least back to $500.

We could, for example have a gradual decline back to $1800. Then a spike down to the 'retest' zones and then stabilisation.

I must confess something...

When I discovered Bitcoin about 2 years ago it blew my mind. I'm a scientist/engineer and my job is to design things, so I immediately understood the idea and its implications. Much like Andreas Antonopoulos's experience, I found myself skipping meals and forgetting to sleep while reading all a could find about it. I thought that this invention had the power and potential to change the world for the better. To help people. And I still believe that.

But something spoiled the dream for me. Greed. I was lucky enough to buy a good amount of BTC when they were worth 200 € each. I didn't plan it, it was pure luck. And then I found myself thinking about how much money I could earn, when I should sell my BTC and become rich (in a fiat setting), etc. I didn't care about Bitcoin "the world-changing invention" anymore, all I ended up caring was how much money I could make out of it.

Things are looking up, and my goal may be realised sooner that I thought, but is this a healthy goal? Are we all supporting or destroying Bitcoin by thinking like this? I see this greed in many people's posts here in the forum. It saddens me. Many here talk pompously and boasting how they're going to sell their stash when its fiat-based value reaches a set target. Is this all you see in Bitcoin? A money-making machine? Are we all failing to see the bigger picture?

Sorry for using WO to post this... I just wanted to get it off my chest.
Greed is good, comrade.

Money is a requirement of life in this culture. Why would you have a problem with enhancing your life, the freedom you have and the things you can do? Is a Real Job™, where you essentially live as a slave, more attractive to you? If so there is nothing stopping you from living such a life. Having money simply gives you the option to not have to work if you don't want to, or to choose your work if you must have one. It's a good thing on all fronts.

especially if work is a 9to5 monday to friday crap where the weekends are only to get rest or rekt ourselves so that we can start over and over again.

And what do we get for it? Nothing! Thrashings and misery, hard words and hard knocks. We're workers, they say. Work, they call it! That's the crummiest part of the whole business. We're down in the hold, heaving and panting, stinking and sweating our balls off . . . "

My guess is the Chinese have found a way around the ban and they're returning to the market somehow. Some VPN solution + foreign exchanges perhaps?

Others guys/Girls do the network job for you (or against you ...).
And sometime, a Fork append and the network "people" earn more or like you on trading.

So, if Bitcoin is only 21 Millions, we have no problem here.
Only solution for people.
