Jihan is reported to have said a few hours ago regarding the BCH fork, "I have no intention to start a hash war with CSW, because if I do (by relocating hash power from btc mining to bch mining), btc price will dump below yearly support; it may even breach $5000. But since CSW is relentless, I am all in to fight till death!" I think he or someone aligned with him dumped on low volume in order to send some kind of message, though I'm not sure what that message is supposed to be: there really shouldn't be much fundamental relationship between hash power and prices except insofar as it causes technical issues (eg. slow blocks -> higher fees), but no BTC issues seem likely here.

Great when the topic has information in a panic moment. Even if it is not good information, bring some rationality to a sudden movement like what happened helps you to think better and plan the next actions.

What the fuck is this?

People converting BTC into BCH so they can claim free shit fork coins tomorrow?

Doesn't appear to be the case. True, BTC is down. But BCH is down more ATM. BTC/SV, however, is up considerably.

Merited by Bitcoinaire (1)

Oh..  And hello to the people in the future who are studying this thread as part of the evidence of market psychology of the early 21st century bitcoin phenomenon.

Don't you wish you had been here with us?

I know.. I know...  Lucky bastards we are.

We even know it on a day like today.

The market is actually betting that CW is Satoshi, basically.

Woof.

bCashers in full panic mode, going to drink a cup of tea on that. (I don't drink booze)

The real shitcoin flippening.

Yup. BCH, in the form of SV, is midway through demonstrating that:
- so-called 'nodes' don't matter
- miners decide, restrained only by the threat of users abandoning the chain
- forks can be just an upgrade mechanism - decisively, if backed by hash
- the most proof of work chain matters

No panic here.

Cheers!

But what doesn't seem to matter is actual user adoption, merchant adoption, investor interest, anyone really giving a shit, etc.

And $6000 broken.

You’re 30 mins late. We’re on our way to $4xxx

When will this shit show STOP?

Why this is happening?

This is a predicted and necessary event.

next stop 4650

It seems to me that a final capitulation, based on some bcash fud, is a very positive scenario.

Something similar happened in the summer of 2015. The price briefly dumped down far below $200, but only that far on one exchange (bitfinex). Three or four months later the price pumped up to $500 and the bear market ended.

So you back the SV camp?  Personally I think Monero is much closer to "Saatoshi's Vision" than anything CW has anything to do with...
