However, where is hyperinflation in Japan that started supporting market with printed money at least since 1992-1993 (3-4 years after their 'bubble' started collapsing)?
As long as money velocity stays low, we will not have high inflation.

Look Biodom, I've seen you make this statement more than once on this thread.

Respectfully, you're wrong.

https://www.shadowstats.com

https://chapwoodindex.com/

The way the Fed calculates CPI is just complete bullshit. It's a fraud.

Well, there is no inflation in Japan, that's all i was talking about.
I would not argue with an opinion that inflation in US is much higher than the official number. You are absolutely right.
However, wage inflation is low-that's a fact, and that is the whole underlying theme that is supporting discontent.
Since actual inflation is higher than wage inflation, the living conditions for an average Joe are going down even with their salary raises.

The only way to escape this was to own assets in the last 20-30 years.
Realistically, inflation is probably about 10 maybe 15% (yearly). You have to beat that.
All I am getting at-you have to be invested (stock market, RE, bitcoin) to have a chance.
When wage inflation would go up-then we would have SERIOUS inflation.

You can look at the basket of goods and their weighting for the CPI in Canada.  If you want, you can customise it for your personal use as well but I think it's pretty all-encompassing.  Gasoline here has gone up $0.11 per liter in the last couple of weeks from $1.03 so if you're an Uber driver, your perception of inflation is going to be a bit skewed.  Overall, I think it's a pretty good determination -

bought canadian pot stocks the day the vote went for B.
They are up 100-200% since  Grin

Nice!  I waited too long.  I wonder when Biden makes it legal in all of USA?

... this "have fun staying poor" meme is an arrogant dick kind of thing to say too. Some people can be rich without a cent ... or a satoshi.
Those who are rich even without having a cent/sat shouldn't be touched by the greeting invite to have fun. They are NOT poor after all. Right?

I am having some difficulties with some of this line of discussion, especially coming from guys who have been in the bitcoin space for a while.

Sure we know that there have not been any guarantees to getting rich with bitcoin or not becoming more poor, and of course, happiness can come from a variety of ways besides money.  There is no doubt about those aspects.

There are also no doubts that long time members are going to have varying levels of returns on their bitcoin investment depending on their approach, and it should not necessarily be the objective of any of us to engage in dick measuring contests in terms of who is more rich or less poor or who got better returns on their BTC investment (or their overall portfolios).  Those are the kinds of measurements that each of us should be attempting to make for ourselves, though.  We should attempt to learn from mistakes that we have made, and I doubt that there are vary many of us (except for the ones who only bang 10s) who have not made any mistakes along the way, but there should be ways to attempt to learn how to adapt to various future dynamics, and if any of us are going to continue to hold any or significant portions of our value in bitcoin, then it surely is not an easy investment exactly - in terms of the responsibilities of holding our own keys and being comfortable with whatever system(s) that we might have and whatever tweaks (or even total overhauls) that we might have to make to our bitcoin related system(s) from time to time.

In any event, the arguments about happiness can come from other means beside bitcoin seems to be the kinds of things that either no coiners would make or those who sold too much bitcoin too soon... surprised to be hearing those kinds of proclamations from Marcus... and I am not even saying that it is not true that if any of us dies or catches corona virus and only lives another month, then it might not have done us much good to have become richie as fuck, but becoming richie as fuck or even more modestly to have become better off than what we would have been otherwise (because of our bitcoin investment(s)).. seems to have a decent amount of merit.. even if it is not the be all and end all of our existences as humans (we are not bots, right?).. (royal we of course).

tl;dr ... definitely genetically-engineered for human host targets, 71 base pairs is next to zero chance for natural random mutations

Wrong.

First of all, the human genome contains 3 billion base pairs. So 71 base pairs is about 0.00002367% of all human DNA. At some point in evolution coronavirus DNA worked itself into DNA that would go on to become human DNA, and some of that matches COVID-19 DNA. This happens all the time. An entire 8% of the human genome consists of ancient viruses, with up to 40% thought to be viral in origin.

25% of human nervous system DNA is shared with sponges.

Speaking of Covid, here's a clinical trial using a cocktail of low cost, readily available therapies (MATH+) given to various stage hospitalized Covid-19 patients.

https://covid19criticalcare.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/MATH-plus-Rationale-Journal-of-Intensive-Care-Medicine-Dec2020.pdf

Just look at the result outcomes on page 14.

Quote
"The  average  hospital  mortality  at these  2  centers  in  over  300  patients  treated  is  5.1%, which represents more than a 75% absolute risk reduction in mortality compared to the average published hospital mortality of 22.9% among COVID-19 patients."

Of course the MSM has been dead silent about this. Gotta push those expensive vaccines.

That's very interesting.  I had no idea famotadine had so many other attributes.  I thought it was only useful for acid reflux or ulcers.

That's very interesting.  I had no idea famotadine had so many other attributes.  I thought it was only useful for acid reflux or ulcers.

Acid reflux can enter your voice box and your lungs especially if the reflux is more pepsin than acid. You can get silent reflux and have no real symptoms of illness.  Catch the covid and it has a preconditioned set of lungs to infect.

Think of slightly inflamed lungs getting peppered with a virus. A nice recipe for 2x pneumonia .  My wife had exactly this issue and caught the virus got 2x pneumonia but in Dec31-Jan 16 of 2019-2020.

So no-one know what to do.  Luckily she never smoked and was in decent shape no heart, diabetes issues and  not overweight.  She did get lung damage and it was many months before the silent reflux was found to be one of two under lying concerns for her.

So here we are about 13 months after she got sick and she is now weaning off 2 acid reflux medicines and a procedure for a hidden condition that cause pressure on her stomach which also did some of the acid reflux.

It has been a bitch to have a loved one sick for this long.  Maybe by the spring she will return to normal.

We had 8 relatives get it. 3 were hospitalized my wife twice but as of today we all survived it.

I learn so much here.  Thanks!

Hm. An impact factor of 3.2 for this journal. That's not too bad, thanks for posting I'll read it. Still I'd rather not go to the hospital in the first place so I'm soooooo ready to be vaccinated. As they say in downtown: Stick the needle in my arm baby!

... we can rely on nutilduh to give us the MSM/Prada narrative right here on the WO, day in day out ... not a valid question, truth or conspiracy gets past this censor's eyes!

... he's wrong with BS about human genome containing coronavirus pieces of course, more pseudo-scientific misinformation FUD to muddy the waters of perfectly valid query about the origins of SARS-CoV-2 which goes against the Chinese Commies narrative. What he didn't expand on is where that 71 base pair sequence came from, how long has it been around, did it get from a common mouse virus into SARS-CoV-2 in a fucking bat cave in Yunan??

A Brief History of Gain of Function Viral Research

... we knew over 5 months ago that a mountain of overhelming circumstantial evidence points to genetically-engineered viruses escaping from labs going back to early as SARS-CoV-1 itself in 2002. Believe whatever you like, but don't believe your lying eyes seems to be the world we live in today. The sooner the lies are admitted we can get on with saving humanity from whatever the fuck this Chinese Communist PLA shit is before it starts integrating into the human genome and changing humanity's genetic evolutionary destiny forever ... defend the lies and history will not be kind to you.

Its been there for billions of years already and was incorporated into the human genome along the way. Is National Geographic also MSM/Prada/Chinese commie propaganda?

The Lurker: How A Virus Hid In Our Genome For Six Million Years

PUBLISHED MAY 10, 2013

...
Scientists have studied these so-called endogenous retroviruses both in humans and in other species, and the evidence all points to the same scenario for how they genetically merged with us. Our ancestors were infected with retroviruses on a regular basis. On rare occasion, a virus infected a sperm or egg and managed to end up in an embryo. Every new cell in the embryo inherited the retrovirus DNA implanted in its genome. And then the embryo grew up into an adult, which then had offspring of its own, and passed the virus DNA on as well.

At first, the virus still retained some of its old powers. Its DNA could sometimes still give rise to new viruses. Mutations arose in the viral genes, and they might prevent it from making shells. Yet the dying virus could still make a new copy of its genes and insert them back into its host genome...

Eventually, however, the endogenous retroviruses got so hobbled by mutations that they became nothing more than baggage. (In some cases, we’ve domesticated their genes, co-opting them for our own functions, such as building a placenta.) Given that many matching endogenous retroviruses can be found in other primates, this process has been going on for millions of years–even tens of millions.

We, humans, or rather our genomes, ARE mostly the virus, or, rather, retrotransposons, believe it or not.
55%-67% of our genome are those little "buggers", if you count simpler repetitive elements.
Alu and Line-1 are the newer and the elder, respectively.
Sometimes, Alu jumps into an important gene causing diseases, but it is mostly a benign "creature".
Every human cell got about 1 mil Alu retrotranspons, which constitute about 10.7% of human DNA.

As El_duderino says...not everyone would understand.

... this "have fun staying poor" meme is an arrogant dick kind of thing to say too. Some people can be rich without a cent ... or a satoshi.

It depends on whom you're saying it to, and how they have previously responded to your advice. I'm an extremely polite person, and would rarely say anything offensive to anyone, even if they deserved it. But I can tell you that the few I've said this phrase to, in relation to my Bitcoin comments and advice, fully deserved it.

Risking my OPSEC, but here goes...

Friday @ work. On our break, chatting with colleagues. At one point, one of them says to me, in front of everyone: "you should be careful, protect yourself, now that you're rich." I just ignored the comment. A few seconds later, another colleague stands up, and says this loudly to everyone. "You are all fucking stupid! The guy told us all to buy Bitcoin in 2017, and we made fun of him. We laughed at him. We ignored his advice. Now, go back to your desks. You are all stupid, and I am stupid too."

Man, that was a satisfying comment. It was all true. I told them all about Bitcoin, and they did exactly what the guy said. And now they're all getting close to me and indirectly asking me for advice. I could have said to all of them "have fun staying poor". I didn't, although they fully deserve it. So, this phrase has its place, it all depends on the circumstances.

A fool is not one who doesn't know, but one who knows and does not act.

The vaccines aren't expensive. Once you're in a Western hospital you're already costing thousands so if there was an efficient treatment it would be used, price is secondary.

If this course of treatment is really useful then it will be used.
