In the other news:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-01-16/bitcoin-swings-undermine-cfo-case-for-converting-cash-to-crypto

They are trying to prevent conversion of corporate treasuries into bitcoin by warning about risks.
Yet, they are not talking about the debasement risk caused by the brrrr.
How come it become OK to lose 10-15% yearly to brrr, but not OK to have a 10-20% volatility AFTER you already increased your treasury account by 200% prior.
This quarterly (or weekly) thinking is beyond stupid.

Bingo. The MSM talks about the Fed is still below their inflation target so much, that they've even got CEOs and CFOs fooled. The delusion can run deep.

How do I know? My father is a lifelong CPA, with 2/3rds of his life spent as a CFO of various Corps. He still to this day tells me "There is no inflation right now."

When I show him sites like Shadow Stats and chapwoodindex.com he just scoffs and laughs it off like it's all just conspiracy propaganda.

Then I bring up all the assets in his life that have practically doubled in price in the last 10 years, of which there are many, and he gets quiet and says "Yeah but that's different."

Too busy IRL... Watching price when I can. I see pumps & dumps (for ants, although some are FAT ants).

Guys, need to post some extreme memes/pics ASAP if there's any hope for serious PUMP action. Supergirls, LGBTTIQQ2SA, gaynime and rusty pipes permitted. I've got to admit I enjoyed Frahm's panty+celery paintings. Always had a thing for women of that era. No CCMF or Carolinas please, save them for $100k, when the fun will really start.

HoDL.

Are they protecting us Europeans from things that cannot be unseen?

There was nothing there to be unseen anyway.  It likely has more to do with the fact that the EU has the best animal protection and welfare laws in the world.  They wouldn't want you people getting any ideas about horses... other than eating them after they were humanely raised in captivity and euthanized for your nutritional requirements.

Of course we have the best animal protection laws in the world. We care about living beings. It's OK to have sex with horses as long as both parties are consenting adults. Did anyone ask the horse if sex was consensual? And how old was the horse? Fugging perverts...

Correct. My understanding is that all shitforks but BCH will be (or already has been) sold.

Yes, they haven't been sold at present though. You can monitor the trustee's addresses for movement here - https://www.cryptoground.com/mtgox-cold-wallet-monitor/

Oh goody.  I cannot wait till this dumps BSV into the shitcan (no offense jbreher).

I don't want to be a nitpick...

But it is already rare to know someone who owns a full bitcoin.  It is just going to become more and more common to know someone with a few hundred thousand sats on their phone.

I can't access etsy with my VPN on but if I leave the VPN on and use TOR, I can access etsy.  Weird.

BREAKING: Financial powerhouse Goldman Sachs to offer #crypto custody as early as 2021!

https://www.coindesk.com/goldman-sachs-to-enter-crypto-market-soon-with-custody-play-source

Wait... Crypto custody is a case of not-your-keys, right?

The thing about custody is that it's guaranteed, often backed by insurance.

This is how their Institutional Fractional Reserve System will make inroads.

EDIT: machasm beat me to it.

What’s to stop banks from running fractional reserve practices on our Bitcoin and putting us back in the same shithole Bitcoin was designed to get us out of?

Bitcoin does its own thing. With a fresh outlook of another $2+ trillion spending ahead, I’m not worried about the narrative of Bitcoin the next few months.

At this point I've completely given up any hope of any sort of austerity measures in the U.S.

I'm hoping that the MSM "doom and gloom" narrative continues on indefinitely, along with continual money printer go brrr. The smart who see through the lies and the pandering, opt out of the fiat monetary system, and invest in Bitcoin and other deflationary assets will gain in wealth and eventually inherit the earth.

The ignorant and hopelessly stupid will continue to put faith in politicians to right the ship, stop printing money to excess, and somehow magically create jobs (none of which will ever happen). They will slave away their whole life, only to die poor and miserable. Unfortunately they can't be helped, they can only help themselves.
The only problem with this is that the same people which put their trust and faith in those politicians to try to save them are going to be the same people which are going to see we had profited massively from our investments and are going to go crying to them and ask them to tax our profits at 90% or something ridiculous like that out of some sort of distorted sense of fairness, and obviously those same politicians that are sinking their countries will try to comply.

This is why it is also important to not flaunt your riches, at this point in time it is not only critical to hold bitcoin, you need to also conceal that fact, and if you can, play dumb whenever someone asks you a question about the topic so you do not bring unwanted attention to yourself.

Need the printer to print dollar change  Cheesy
Unlikely, the US loses money on each penny they produce and soon enough if they keep the printers going on it will include other coins as well.
