I think I have said all. Under no circumstances will I write anything in this thread before it goes to $500. I have a castle to attend to meanwhile I assume he was thinking that 500 was imminent, but it doesn't look like we will hear from him soon! Rpietila is extremely confident in his opinions until they are wrong and then he quickly dismisses them without explanation. So he has it in his head that we are going to go to 300-500 on this "bear" market. I think he is very short sighted as usually on these matters and he thinks I am in the "denial" phase. Of course, its hard to deny something that I know is a "possibility" which 300-500 is. Its just not a likely possibility without really bad news. Rpietila is not a brilliant as many give him credit for, but the average IQ of the forum in general is at a level that is easily impressed. I think Rpietila thinks this will unwind like April and I just absolutely disagree. This feels completely different than April to me. We'll see. At least we both agree that we are headed to 10k soon enough. Intelligent people are often capable of jumping to a conclusion and using all their brain power to defend that position when a less intelligent person can easily see it is plain wrong. (paraphrasing Edward De Bono) I can see him; furiously busy, 're-casting' his charts and trying to work out how the market can be so wrong. "But it was supposed to go down!"

China's about to wake up in 3-4hrs. I wonder what they've got in store for us!
I'm glad the price popped up above 900 again on Gox - wouldn't be fun to have Monday start with a downwards momentum into the low 800's.
This china-waking-up stuff is pathetic. Can you not imagine a chinese speculant staying up all nignt to speculate, just as you do yourself? I didn't know they called them "speculants" in China. TIL.

Well, there are certainly different forms of intelligence. For instance, he is predictating his bearishness on what happened in April, saying that we are in denial. Well, one can easily go back and read this thread which started in April during the crash and compare the sentiment. To me it is quite different.

That's the issue. Human's can't continue on their unquenchable consumption of resources forever. And going to Mars isn't the answer for "more". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG9JkagAeRo

That's the issue. Human's can't continue on their unquenchable consumption of resources forever. And going to Mars isn't the answer for "more". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hG9JkagAeRoIt all really depends on the frame of reference. Bare with me for one second: So far, the most unique thing we know in the universe is Intelligent Life. So far, there's only us (though highly unlikely). BUT while we have not found another Intelligent race, we have founds lots of other planets capable of supporting such life or even us. Therefore, Intelligent life is scarcer than the resources that fuel us (Earth). Now this becomes an economic problem, scarcity makes Intelligent life more valuable. If you were given this simple choice: Save the humans or save the earth ?? The logical route is of course to save the most scarce. Humans can go on without the Earth, and even expand to hundreds of Earth-like planets, which we have already mapped. But losing Intelligent life.... that would be a real blow not easily fixed. Ecologists will want to murder me for my conclusion: In this frame of thought, Humans have the moral obligation to use all possible resources in order to secure the continuation of Intelligent life.
