I am amazed that we didn't set record lows while I slept.

I am also equally amazed that gox is stupid enough to not be the first person to put out the statement related to their own situation. I imagine they have their heads stuck in the sand.

LMFAO

Double bottom? 380, 400.

I know that I'm wiring money like crazy to both Kraken and Bitstamp. There will probably be a shitstorm on the media, noobs will panic sell, I expect blood on the streets and thus for me the time has arrived to go *very* long.
Well, in a way it would certainly make sense. We always thought those 750k BTC fake balances existed. Not so!

How come all the core devs etc use the child forum reddit? Wouldn't it be better to post here?

The Bitcoin Subred ist quiet mature. You can't just tell reddit if full of children.
the Dogecoin subred is much much more childish, but Bitcoin is definitely not.

I sodl at the bottom Cry damn my lack of faith

damn brother, how come?

the FUD....it got to me. And like many here, I was never rich, buying a few bitcoins a long time ago before these two huge bubbles has squashed my ability to remain rational.

edit: let this be a lesson to you all - HODL

At least don't sell while it's going down a lot. I first bought in near the top of the April rally.. but when it crashed I never sold.
I was in the red from then all the way to the China rally, so about half a year. Either go in with full faith in the long term, or stay out.

I did sell for a nice profit at $960 though. I'm not against shorting, but you need to know what you're doing.

Nicely done. I sold 90% @ $180 when it was dropping. Never bought back in because I didn't believe it would rise so quickly. Missed out on $1200. Then I made a desperation move and sold my last 10% @ $860 on Mtgox when it was dropping. Made another gutsy move and bought int at $700 and sold at $1000. But if I had just held all the way until $1200. I still think about that.

Thanks. I will admit though that I could've made more money.. I may not have sold Bitcoin during a crash.. but I did sell Megacoin.. I could have about 50 btc more than I do now if I hadn't done that... same goes for selling many of my NXT too early, could've made 5x more there.

I think of the time when I could of invested in buying coins instead of buying mining equipment from BFL..! Ahhhhh...

the PR on mtgox has been so horrible for so long, I am never surprised at the idiocy there.

750k coins gone however? That requires a new level of retardation.

This market seems un naturally strong right now.. the Chinese news in Dec was not as bad IMO.

Are people buying cause they think there is nearly 1/12 th of btc missing from the market possibly spread across hackers or one thief.

I also think current lows we're achieved by people pricing in a failure of gox.

That sums it up for me... It is literally dumbfoundingly amazing... I am almost certain my grade 10 business class would've prepared me to manage Gox better than it has been.

panic buying. If you thought you have 100btc on gox and now u think u have nothing and miss the train. Buy buy buy^^

No, I don't know. Maybe it is because the uncertainty is gone? Gox is bankrupt. Maybe the price was falling because some people thought this might be a long, long painful death going on for serveral weeks.

Why are we going up in the first place? Almost at the same level as before gox shutdown and that is without any good news. Should probably short this but I'm too pussy to sell in this sharp uptrend

Gox is not dying a slowly painful death over weeks. People will not short anymore. Maybe I am wrong but it is possible that we see 600 or 700 until the weekend - at max. But I am no prophet...

The recovery is maxed out for now. It's going to take at least a day to consolidate and break $520 if not longer.
