Yes it definitely is true,
They are doing the same thing in Europe... cash transactions > 1k euros aren't even allowed anymore in France!
BTC is the future, we are early adopters, nobody can limit our cash That sounds a bit hollow considering BTC dropped 10% a couple of hours ago. |

What are they expected to charge them with, receiving funds from sold bitcoins? I didn't know it was a crime to sell your bitcoins. Having your account closed is bad enough without being arrested too.
Unfair to a couple of outliers who use BTC for legitimate, government-approved transactions? Like the US marshals auctioning their seized silk road coins? Will their bank call the cops to arrest them when they try to withdraw their money from the auction sales? It seems hypocritical if others get arrested for doing the same thing. 1. USMS is a part of the greater whole, collectively reffered to as "teh gubermint" by Bitcoin criminals. Those jackbooted thugs ain't gonna arrest themselves. 2. USMS is not converting their loot into cash, just keeping it in the bank. When USMS needs cash, they'll get it directly from you, Bitcoin criminal. Through civil forfeitures, like always  |

Given the parlous state of the stagnating French economy the limit for foreign tourists on currency payments will remain higher, at 10,000 euros down from the current limit of 15,000 euros.
The threshold below which a French resident is free to convert euros into other currencies without having to show an identity card will be slashed from the current level of 8,000 euros to 1,000 euros.
In addition any cash deposit or withdrawal of more than 10,000 euros during a single month will be reported to the French anti-fraud and money laundering agency Tracfin.
French authorities will also have to be notified of any freight transfers within the EU exceeding 10,000 euros, including checks, pre-paid cards, or gold. |

non-american bitcoiners probably generally like that the u.s. people are abused by their banks/government b/c they think such abuse will raise the value of their btc. u.s. american bitcoiners probably like it to an extent but less so b/c they are afraid they are next. for non-bitcoiners, the bullying is just bad.
