Mind blown in 3. . . 2. . . 1. . .
Could this be the rise to $10,000 USD / BTC ? ? ? Not so much a comment as an observation, if you are saying it repeats but bigger wont the other bit also be longer? (the flat part) is that mean 5 years before next ath that makes sense. i fully agree More like exactly when halving happens

Down a few dollars today and $266 is holding, just noise, not a dump.

just saw 800 coins bought on bitfinex in 4 orders that werent shown in the orderbook. buys were for solid amounts, 100, 200, 200, 290... all filled at one exact price, no slippage at all...
very strange...

Yeah, I saw that too. Business transactions aren't being allowed to move the price at all. Small transactions from private individuals aren't enough to go "to the moon" as they say. When Karpeles moved the price he did it by manipulating 10's of thousands of btc at once. When are individuals ever going to do that? For better or worse, they need to allow the currently off book transactions to move the price.

I believe Bitcoin will serve as Digital gold it will always be around since it was first.
Will we use BTC for day to day purchases? ....no.
We will use another blockchain based coin that is more common than BTC and less costly to mine
BTC will always carry that intrinsic value since it was first.

There is no purpose for bitcoin to be digital gold if another blockchain is widely used. That blockchain will turn out to be the true digital gold.

There is no purpose for bitcoin to be digital gold if another blockchain is widely used. That blockchain will turn out to be the true digital gold. hmm, just like 8 track and casette tape still have value.... New tech replaces old tech all the time. Bitcoin needs to continually advance and expand in order to maintain its primacy, the arguements over block size just indicate how difficult that will be. The major advantage Bitcoin enjoys at the moment is that a lot of the competition with big money (ie banks) are spending their time on how they can use the tech to create walled gardens, and are completely ignoring the lessons of Aol and Compuserve. This buys bitcoin another 18 months to get its shit together, but if it carries on as it is someone will implement an alternative that does everything bitcoin does and more and get it adopted by a major payments/transaction management/logistics company or six.

Last I checked this is still being looked at by devs on a weekly basis, with another summit coming up in December. Every single one of them agrees on bigger blocks, now it's just a matter of which proposal gets implemented. It will happen. Why so glum?

Considering I use BTC for day to day purchases the only way we will use it for day to day purchases is if you start to as well.

I know this sounds paranoid, but I think there is a psyops campaign to prevent consensus. Small blockers are not making rational arguments. They say it's reckless to make big changes to a 4 billion dollar network, but then they want to wait and take their time to make sure their aren't major negative effects. So what are they going to say when it's a 20 billion dollar network? Consensus itself is a potential central point of failure. I think that vulnerability is being exploited.
