we've created more jobs, doubled the workforce, extended the retirement age, gr8ly improved technology, and still the world economy is going to shit? ? really? The only solution: MMM Republic of Bitcoin! What we need is more people gambling trading bitcoin, and soon we'll see improvements across the board. Bitcoin offers perfect information to everyone. 1 billion dollars can't go unaccounted for. A huge percentage of Bitcoin has gone "unaccounted for" -- See Gox, see Pirate, see TF, see Ukyo, see Danny, etc., etc. Knowing that your coin went to Obvious Money Launderer Provably Fair Dice site before ending up in Anon's pocket doesn't help much, if you know what I mean that's because it's the early days... government wallets won't be able to arbitrarily send money to unknown addresses... the poeple will demand they break down their spending plan, and watch them, making sure they don't go sending 10BTC to unknown address for unknown reasons. Confidential Transactions: a side-chain for shady doings. Wait for it. how do you imagine shareholders would react to a company making "Confidential Transactions" to the tune of 5% of revenue. you think they would like that? maybe they would place more value on an honest businesses not operating in the shadows. bitcoin is a power tool, one which makes it impossible for a bad actors to pretend to be good.

The post is written in the present tense, "if i have a large amount of money at the bank i have to pay negative interest rates" IF what you suggest is true, the quoted text would read thusly: "if i have a large amount of money at the bank, and if the banks still charged negative interest rate on deposits of over €500,000, which they once did but no longer do, i have to pay negative interest rates." If that was the case, I would probably reply that as much as my heart bleeds for those with over €500,000 (£393,000) sitting in the bank (while half of the world is living on less than $2/day), life is unfair -- try to suck it up. Yup, it's the wee lamb. Lamb, maybe go back and read what you're replying to, and your own posts. Take your time. Your language skills aren't great, and one area they really seem to fall down is when dealing with non-native English, but what megges said is perfectly clear. Desperately trying to read too much into what other people have said is one of your more obnoxious tells. Incidentally, there are terraced houses down the street from me that cost more than £400k. The poor lower-middle class families who reside there will love to know you're so concerned about what they'll do when they sell their homes, should British banks follow this German example.

Fuck you, my English's just fine Re. "terraced houses down the street from me that cost more than £400k": They own those £400k houses & have over over €500,000 (£393,000) sitting in the bank? Because banks don't charge you interest for living in your hose. And these poor souls, with half a mil in the bank, living in a half-mil house, they're lower-middle class?! LOWER-middle class ? A-fucking-mazing Tell me again about your fine English. Sorry, I'm making a gross assumption. I'm assuming that this is an example of your language skills, but I suppose you may simply not realise that when people sell their homes it normally - via various lawyers' accounts - results in money entering their bank account. Not for very long, typically, because they'll probably want to buy a new house to live in as soon as possible. But still - money in their account. Wee lamb, I'm sticking you on ignore. No doubt you or an alt will carry on without me. Go wild.

... bitcoin is a power tool, one which makes it impossible unnecessary for a bad actors to pretend to be good.
FTFY Adam, I don't think you have any idea how corruption actually works. It's not done by refusing to show the books, it's done by overpaying for crap & cronyism -- basically what thermos is doing right now by paying his buddy millions to work on the new forum software when the government build the olympic stadium here in montreal, tucks would get paid for materials or wtv as they came in, so the trucks would come in, turn around, and come back in again, to get paid twice! poeple working there were cool with it because everyone feels like the government is stealing from them, and this was just some pay back. a tiny bit of proper organization wouldn't of allowed for that, thats what it all comes down to, organization, if you organize things properly corruption isn't a possible. everything that can go worng will go wrong, so make sure nothing can go worng. fiat opens the door to alot of things going wrong... things that require trust and good will are doomed to fail.

A bunch of crooks were stealing from the government "because everyone feels like the government is stealing from them." If the world ran on Bitcoin, these crooks would stop being crooks, and spend their days auditing government agencies. Listen to yourself, Adam, and reread the boldface above. yes i agree that overpaying is the most common case of crooked deals. no one has to spend there days auditing government agencies, they have a program that does that for them ofc! i'm saying poeple will do shady shit if they can, and with a little organization making sure they can't, they don't.. because they can't!

bitcoin is good for doing shady shit because it is good money.
if you cannot do things in private with your money it is next to useless as money, you may as well call it prison credits, casino chips or church indulgences ... w/e it is, it isn't money.
